The concept is fine.

The presenters are cocks.

I want to know if they're like that at home when their wives are cooking dinner.

"THE PRESSURE IS ON, DEAR, IT'S TIME TO PLAY HARD OR GO HOME, THE QUESTION IS. CAN. YOU. HANDLE. IT.Oh thanks love, cheese on toast, my favourite".

Usual old dross.... ordinary people with a small amount of talent with over expectations of success. All the old cliches on view.... " I'm going for it as I think this is my destiny" " I want to fulfil my dreams of owning and running my own restaurant " " I know I can do this, I was born to do this"

Usual old dissing and weeding out, as stated, Mr Free Lunch Gregrocer passing his judgement as good cop to Torode's bad cop.... this is what telly has become because we let it happen... yes people, WE watched the first tentatative Wannabe Singers, Dancers, Nancy's,Chefs etc put them selves in to the firepit in the hope of becoming a celebrity because they feel they have the right To be what they want to be.. oh, not by hard work in the background, no no NO !..... by doing it all on telly so everyone can share their heaven and their hell.. well we watched and voted and now we are paying for it.. lord help us

While I entirely agree with this sentiment, the inbuilt quality filter on my telly (aka the 'off' button) ensures that my TV viewing is entirely of stuff of quality or actual entertainment value. You're quite right though - so many people actually enjoy the glut of reality TV shit that passes for entertainment these days that they have indeed ended up with the output they deserve.

Gotta be Mat to win, although Chris is not without his plus points. ;)

I created another entry with L'beouf crusted parcel a la pukka

It has to be the big cuddly, softly spoken Matt to win for me, I want to pick him up and run around the room with him above my head singing songs about him:clap2:

I saw the pie, it was deep, it was delicious (I'm guessing) it was flavourful.

At the moment, I'm thinking of an oeuf du chocolate a la Cadburys as my starter point. Its going to be the PUDDING TO END ALL PUDDINGS.

I have decided to use the quality filter tonight.... I have had so many cliches forced down my throat .... I'm stuffed !

Are they still doing the ridiculus lead ins like, ( Torode/Greggrocer) " Gentlemen, you have to produce the perfect omlette using the two eggs, knob of butter and salt and pepper provided in 10 minutes"

gap of 5 seconds

Then, obligingly, the female narrator in an earnestly serious voice... " The contestants have to produce the perfect omlette using the two eggs, knob of butter and salt and pepper provided in 10 minutes"

What is the average attention span of the target audience ?

I just love the shoutiness of the presenters, even when they're supposedly talking to each other. But not as much as I love THIS:

Fillet of turkey a la Bernard Matthews in a dinosaur croquette, with pommes frites and a pasta and tomato salsa.

Or Brett's marvellous effort:

L'beouf crusted parcel a la pukka, deep sauteed maris piper sticks, red onion in pain blanc crust, bisto drizzle and blanched petis pois
