If some reports are to be believed Moyes is Ferguson's preferred choice as his successor. I believe that the present Everton side is one of the best in the last 20 years, and in the football cycle they often have a good year where they push hard for fourth spot.

A team of Howard, Distin, Heitinga, Jagielka, Baines, Rodwell, Arteta, P Neville, Pienaar, Cahill, Beckford has a lot going for it. No Champions League distractions, not massively distrupted by international call-ups either.

Decent bech too - Yobo, Saha, Bilyaletdinov, Fellaini, Vaughan.

If they stay injury-free I think they will finish above Villa and give Spurs, City and Liverpool a run for their money.

Distin, Neville and Beckford aren't anything to write home about, although Heitinga, Arteta, Cahill and Pienaar are class players.

I believe without all their injuries last year they would have made Europe.
