This was the Foggia Pisa play-off which got feisty after Gattuso got hit by a bottle. I'd love to know what RDZ was saying at this point, he was quite animated if you watch it. Probably 'stop walking round with that bag on your head, you're just winding up the crowd more and you look like a tit'.

Not that I'm packing already or anything...

Lots of colours and flags on the 9:01 out of St Pancras along with the 13:01 Ouigo out of Lille. But everything 'put away' about 10 minutes from Marseille.
On the day I'm guessing once inside the La Jolliete area colours are OK.

Best to blend in by wearing an ultras style black bomber jacket and black trousers with a black face mask. It can be worn at Ajax and Athens too if necessary. Just don’t ruin the look by singing silly songs or having a red and blue banner with Fanatics or similar on it.

La Joliette area of Marseille has bars and restaurants where supporters should base themselves on the day of the match. Additional food and drink facilities and a DJ will be provided in Place de la Joliette.

Surely if la Joliette is very publicly an Albion area, with a DJ and buses to take us to the ground, we'll be fine wearing colours pre getting to the stadium in that area? I'll obviously have eyes and ears open and judge it on the day, but it would seem odd to have an area with food, drink and a DJ for Brighton fans, only to be stood around in plain clothes. It's presumably going to be fairly well policed in that area given they've told us to go there.

Not correct actually as we only started with 3170 tickets and about 160 of those (at the back of the top tier) were withdrawn when it became abundantly clear we were not going to sell out. So final total about 2730

Because the email from the club states:

• DO NOT wear club colours until you enter the away section of the stadium and hide colours when out in Marseille

So you can wear them in the stadium, which is why I asked. But thanks for such a charitable response.

@Bansko Seagull : Avenue de Montolivet is a bit off center area, residential and a bit boring. If on very tight budget, best would be to go to St-Charles Station ; take a metro to Chartreux and walk from there. It's a bit hilly around there and slopes might be steep depending on where you exactly stay. I'd advise to avoid the St Just station which is much shaddier than Chartreux.

A cab from the airport would be some 60/65€. A cab from St-Charles some 20€. On the other hand, a really nice alterbative would be to take the shuttle to St-Charles and then two metro stations to 5 Avenues - Longchamp area. This a underrated and pretty nice area of central Marseille, with some good bars (local pubs ... albeit closing pretty early, wine bars and some good value restaurants with the beautiful Palais Longchamp as a landmark). From there an Uber (taxis might be a tad pricier and sadly might be a scam if you don't know the city ; a reliable company is Taxis Radio Marseille if Uber doesn't work +33 4 91 02 20 20) would cost ~10€. Just checked it out (I'm like 1km away from there and further away from Montolivet, it's some 12€ from my place).

Stick your Albion shirt on under your well done up jacket, stick a Marseille scarf round your neck, make your own way to Stadium, through all their ultras without saying a word, where outside the away turnstiles, you discreetly bin said Marseille scarf, go through away turnstile for the full incredible hulk hidden Albion top reveal.

or could just sack that all off and wear no colours!
