Hang on a minute, pre registration was given loads of publicity, if for whatever ever reason you haven't pre registered then you can't buy a ticket, simple as that. I booked flights and accommodation for all 3 of the away days as soon as the dates were announced, I'm not a STH, I live in Scotland and I know I've got no chance of getting Ajax and AEK tickets but I have got a slim chance of getting a Marseille ticket tomorrow at 2 along with all the other Albion+ members who can only get to occasional games.

Spot on. I’ve done the hard yards of aways when I lived in Brighton and had a season ticket for years. Same feelings as you and the club made it obvious that you had to pre register for a chance of a ticket, even if that chance was minuscule. Would be fuming if they changed it tomorrow.

Whilst the club should absolutely honour the published tier groups for Marseille tickets - and they will, of course - I don't see why they shouldn't open sales to those who didn't pre-register if tickets remain once all tiers have been exhausted.

There are people out there who didn't pre-register because they didn't think they could go, but now can. If some tickets do remain, surely it's right to see if they can be sold rather than have empty seats and some frustrated fans having to watch at home on TV?

It's our first ever away game in European competition - one of the most glamorous away games we've ever had. Are you more committed if you fancy a cheeky holiday in the South of France?
The majority of people are hardly going on an inclusive holiday for a week.. Most are going on the day or maybe 2/3 days max and are making a considerable effort to get there... why shouldn't they be more rewarded than 10 pts to a home Europa game where they literally have to make no additional efforts (in comparison to the time spent organising and cost of a european trip

Why does it matter if you can get a ticket anyway? Surely we want to sell out?

totally agree, the main reason the club went for a pre registration was to gain "information about the likely uptake when discussing various requirements with clubs, police and other authorities. there was clearly no previous info available as to what was likely to happen - I don't think it hurts anyone to open up the tickets again once all the people who did pre-register have had their opportunity? The club will have them as "pre registered" before the game so they already know who will be travelling. Why would you not give people the opportunity and also the club the opportunity to sell as many tickets as possible..

Who does it hurt? I Don't believe it does make a mockery of the system at all...

Is it looking like it won't sell out? The game is still weeks away!

people need to plan trips like this in advance advance, time off work, travel, cost, childcare. - not like your rocking up to a match 20 min drive away.... The majority of people have been planning this type of trip for months and now the final details can be put into place...

Hang on - you'd be fuming now if a fellow Brighton fan had the opportunity to buy a ticket to a game that has no affect on you whatsoever? - strange take......

I think its a bit of a piss take as well getting 5 pts. The majority of people going will be the more committed fans too and i think they should be "rewarded" as such for their efforts.
Being at Brighton’s first ever competitive game on foreign soil is reward enough. 5 points is fine with me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going (and have been planning on going no matter where or when since the thought of even qualifying for the competition was a possibility. I just think the scheme could be bit fairer in its recognition. ( this is a bit like Middlesboro away in the cup competition too) - this isn't about some "better or worse" fan comparison or some binfest of whether people deserve tickets cause they've been going longer etc, just my general observations about the "scheme"

Absolutely makes sense to allow those who didn’t pre-register to purchase, once those that did have had their chance. However, that would be at odds with what the Club stated in their 2nd September email:
“By registering, you're not committed to buying a ticket, nor does it guarantee you a ticket, but you must pre-register to attend away games. The process allows us to gauge demand for the matches and helps us demonstrate to the opposition the allocation size we may need.”

Luckily in the top tier, for me the main thing is to sell out these matches and have the bun fight after.
I think like my travel plans we've all made small mistakes along the way including the club. It's a new adventure for all of us, live and learn.
If we get through the group stage we'll probably have a different approach to tickets and travel alike.

Absolutely right, I was speaking to an Albion+ member who missed/wasn't aware of pre registration (I know, how?) but had already booked travel to Marseille.

He was planning to get a ticket in the home end and had even spoken to a french company which would probably turn out to be a con. I suggested this wasn't so wise, for his well being more than his wallet but he would have been eligible now had he pre-reg'd... I'm sure he's not alone

Indeed - I've got a good friend (Hello Mark 👋) who is in exactly the same spot. Work was getting in the way so he didn't pre-register, but now he can go - he just can't buy a ticket as it stands.

And, being honest, despite me living and breathing this stuff much of the time, the need to pre-register somehow passed me by. It was only @Papa Lazarou mentioning it to @edna krabappel in a chat group we're in that alerted me to it.
