Plenty of time?

Kick-off is at 5:45 so the latest time for the collection of tickets is 2:45.

Doesn't that mean even if absolutely everything goes to schedule for you, you'll be arriving in Marseille at the time the ticket collection closes somewhere else in Marseille?
Kick off is 18.45 and was thinking 4 hours before KO was plenty of time but now with the collection times theres not much room for manouver

I never seem to get emails from the club. Does the email contain a link to buy tickets? I had expected to buy tickets through the website in the normal way.
The email tells you when you are eligible to buy tickets.

Some people were mocking me when I warned how dangerous Marseille could be to Brighton fans . Hopefully people on here will know realise I wasn’t making it up or over exaggerating .

No away colours by order of the French police is unprecedented as is a police escort to inside the stadium.

Makes the palace away game look like a friendly kick about !
Club are just being sensible. See you down the waterfront for a chilled glass of rosé?

"With collection of the tickets, it will only be from the day before up until 3 hours before kick off.
After that, tickets will not be available to collect."

not surprisingly the hard line stands. I say that because they cant say its "x" but for some its "y", but hopefully though the question will allow them to consider the realities if travel impacts for significant numbers who could end up in the fan zone, 2 hours before kick off, very tired and very disappointed.. I've seen unpleasant reactions from people who are unable to open a train door 30 secs before its departure.
Lucky I'm on good ol' reliable EasyJet... hang on....
3 hours is bonkers.

Was in Wroclaw over the weekend and the England collection closed at 5pm which was an hour before kick off.

That will be VERY tight in terms of plane to bus time.

With a plane full of football fans I'm sure security are going to be more annoying when getting off plane. Plus you might need to get a bus to passport control. Then you need to get to terminal one for the flix buses. Which is 10 mins from terminal 2.
Passport control could take time as well. Plane loads of football fans will take time to process.

Just a(nother) heads up for folks to check their passports as I've known / seen 2 people refused on flights to Europe in last couple weeks... think quite a common problem.
The extensions given for unused expiry time on a pre brexit issued passport (bit like an MOT) are now invalid. The club have given info on their website.
More info here

I read that as if you’re within 10 years of issue date you’ll be fine I think?

A few takes from me as a relatively seasoned England away travel.

All of this is exactly what England fans away have suffered for a very long time. It’s rubbish but suck it up. I fully expect the buses to be a very long tour round the city. Once on them they have you under control. That’s how they like it. Same on way back.

Will be difficult, possibly impossible, to avoid being put on a bus after the game so if you have plans to go somewhere else be prepared to have to suck that up. For the Italy away game, our hotel was next to the stadium pretty much in Naples, had we not got lucky and found a small gap on the barricade we would have been put on a bus taking us an hour away. No choice.

Overall, the policy is to scare you into thinking twice about doing your own thing. They want everyone together as they view this as easier to police it’s a very different culture.

Also they are very keen on using a baton. If there is a squash, as there often is due to herding you all, don’t resist. If you do they will baton.

I have never seen any trouble with away fans abroad. However I have seen police causing fans to get fed up leading to some moderate misbehaviour leading to them batoning. Be prepared to walk away. It’s not worth it.

Finally they don’t like the drinking culture and if large numbers go drinking after the game they are likely to move you on again at some point.

It’s all a ballache.

I’ll still be going.

Finally, England always get you to collect your ticket centrally but then announce you can get them at the stadium. I may be wrong so please don’t count on but I would be amazed if the club don’t set up a collection point at the stadium for those who didn’t make it. Why else cut off 3 hours before (time to relocate ticket collection?) ?

Finally. I actually think ticket sales will go down to members. Everyone wants to go to Ajax, with the advice given and the expense of travel I suspect a lot of those that pre registered may think twice.

Yep.

I've been to nice and Paris the last few months and I would say best case you get off that plane and through passport and security 30 mins after the designated land time. Then I believe easyJet lands at terminal 2 so you need to get to terminal 1.

If I was on that plane I would have a backup plan. (Probably the 1.32pm train from nice st Augustine which gets in at 4pm.... less than 3 hours before KO but surely ok.)

308 points to 230 points is a big gap. I know all in that bracket are guaranteed a ticket but I hope the tiers are more staggered for Ajax.

I wonder how many there are on 308 +. Whatever half of the allocation is?
I presume it’s half the allocation. Makes sense to split the allocation into two equal batches
