My young lad is on the London Bridge to Brighton Thameslink right now. He reports there are three black clad obviously Marseilles ultras walking up and down the train, sizing up every single passenger nd looking for colours and allegiance, all looks and feels quite threatening. And my lad is a 95kg 6 foot 2 unit mid twenties who can look after himself, if he feels threatened (travelling alone) I’m sure many others will too. Be careful people.
They’ll be knackered by the time of the game if they keep walking up and down the train all the way 🤣

Just went out for a walk downtown. I've never heard so much French in England -- unfortunately, it's the sissified, Continental French which we French-Canadians lustily deride.

Lots of OMs dressed in black, but those in groups of 4 or more were being followed by local constables.

BTW, are we allowed to bring our own food to the grounds? Outside the stadium, of course. Went to Morrison's to grab some cheap food on the go -- I'd like to save my £££ for brewskies. 🍻

You can take in food - I have a sausage roll ready to go into the oven to take with me tonight rather than over-pay for one of the Piglets ones at the Amex

You can’t over-pay for those, they are magnificent.

If they are retreating, hopefully this is being played loudly to add to the atmosphere.

I'm not usually that much into classical music, but every now and then I hear something like this and think "Wow, that's pretty special."
Thanks for sharing.

They’ll be no bother tonight, in the pub all asking for cola.

You sure they're not Palace fans?

Lots of Marseille fans in Churchill Square - I got eyeballed by one. There was also about 20+ of them outside The Victory 15 minutes ago. I then walked into The Bath Arms to get out of the drizzle and a lone guy in a Marseille shirt sat by the door proceded to get his phone out and start messaging whilst looking over at me as I went up the bar. I walked out and said 'you comin' then or what?'

Right?

Bloody hell, small world Gatineau! I lived in Ottawa across the river wayyy back in 1978/79. I have a claim to fame, I played for West Ottawa U18s against Gatineau, a big cross border English v French crunch match, it was broadcast on local television K-something public service broadcasting. Although I like to hide my light under a bushel, I did score the winning goal in a 1-0 victory. It was a filth game, Canadians play footie like ice hockey stylee. There was only one TV camera, on a temporary gantry at the half way line, when the ball hit the net I had a 55 yard run to get to the gantry for a proper goal celebration, I was bolloxed.

I was reading this thinking is was a cool story, but then I remembered how you love to make up transfer rumours and claim to be in the know, and they always turn out to be crap.
