The bloke is a waste of space but he'll probably only do 6 months tops. Big headed tw@t

Most custodial sentences mean you'll serve half the time dished out, less any served on remand (don't think King was on remand).

Odd that he celebrates his wife getting pregnant by trying to have sex with women other than his wife.

Always used to be 2/3rd served 1/3rd remission thought it was now 1/3rd served 1/3rd Parole/license and 1/3rd remission in which case he will be free in April and ready for a holiday then pre season training to find a club prepared to take him. Championship and Div 1 will be queing up for a goalscorer as per Lee Hughes.

It really is an interesting category of player we have nowadays.

along with the traditional journeyman pro's, one club men, old fashioned craggy centre halves, jinky wingers, scandinavian workhorses or cultured one footed midfielders, we now have the PARIAH STRIKER. Commits a sickening crime, comes out and signs for a league one club and terrorises defences unable to cope until bashing someone up at the christmas party and moving on again. I think this is a category we will see a lot more of.

It used to be just drink driving that get a a player locked up once in a while. Now you have to kill someone while doing it or bash up or rape women. And play up front. Its a whole new ball game now.

So Marlon King locked up for failing to score at a club.

Which one? Middlesborough, Wigan, Hull...

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
f***ing hysterical. About time some of these over paid dullards were put away for a long stretch for acting like they were above the law.

Can imagine he will have several nights when his arse will look like the Japanese flag.

Dave Whelan: "We will not tolerate football players who get sent to jail for 18 months. As far as we are concerned, he is finished with football at Wigan Athletic."

Apparently, assaulting a woman is OK, just don't get jailed for it. Presumably, the former doesn't stop you playing for your club, whereas the latter does - and we can't have that, can we?

Looks like Joey Barton will have a new room mate come next season. I wouldn't bet against it. Disgracefully,I think some club will probably sign him up when he's out:tosser::angry:

He'll be at Notts County before the season's end. King and Hughes...the deadliest strikeforce in the Football League...

To be fair Wigan can hardly sack a player for an alleged incident. Innocent until proven guilty after all. They have done the right thing in this case. Once proven guilty immediately terminate his contract, Whelan's choice of words may be could have been better but his actions were beyond reproach.
