I've heard a coulple of stories about people phoning up for tickets the day before a game and not being able to buy them because they weren't on the system, they wanted them to fill in a form and take it to the club shop, so they said sod it.
It's been raised on here a few times by others by they tend to get shouted down as whingers. Somethings been wrong with ticketing for years at the Albion but it's not worth talking about now as hopefully they'll get it sorted for Falmer.
My youngest, whose boyfriend is a Charlton fan, rang Charlton up and asked for two tickets for the Brighton game and without even questioning the post code or anything , sent her two tickets for the home end.
This morning, she received a letter from Charlton thanking her for buying the tickets, enclosing a free membership card giving her discount on match day tickets and priority for away tickets and two pamphlets , .
I can't understand how that works. If everyone who ever buys, a single ticket, is automatically made a member and given 'priority', surely everyone has priority and its worthless? Odd.
The rest all seems pretty slick, though.
I tell you what, it works.
My lad's mate (10 years old) 2 years ago was walking around in his Chelsea shirt, spouting everthing premiershite.
I had a word with his mum, told her about gully's gang, adding that he'd be able to go to a 'live' game for nothing. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Guess what, the boy now goes around sporting the new home top, loves going to Withdean ( yeah, I know...), knows all the Albion players ( not personally you understand), and he doesn't give a flying f*** about Chelsea anymore.
Job done.
Went to the Villa cup match but had to become a Villa member to get a ticket for the home section as our tickets had sold out. Ever since then i have been bombarded with emails from Villa othering me this and that.......i am not interested thanks....stop pestering me *
* me and countless others sitting around me that day!!
Yes. Charlton are very well known for their marketing, and placing buses all over the South east, but unlike them we do not have a dead rat outside the Liberal Club.
