Ah that would explain things. We were on the next table and pissed off. I didn't get to try the Affligem blonde.

It was pure stupidity from the manager.

We're going to go their after the game, but opted for an interesting drink in the Kings Head and then on to the Bier Kellar.

We did the Wheatsheaf practically next door to the beerkeller. Not bad.
If I was the owner of The Rake I would want to know exactly why my bar was shut at its busiest time just because someone sang. Providing the guy who shut it is not the owner.

Could be! Apparently all the staff stayed late the night before as well and got well pissed, maybe a curry night was thrown in too!

so it seems that The Only Pub In London was opened late, presumably due technical issues as said, no pubs where actually shut due to "police advise" and The Rake is a stupid pub to be avoided (funnily enough never been in there, about the only one in SE1, probably on previous advice)

on seeing the closed MP went to the George around the corner, few real ales on, quick service and nice big courtyard where we could get a table no probs...didn't mind colours at all.
