I for one am not sure about sacking McGhee.I certainly feel very sorry for him. With him in charge there was no way we would have gone down this season, the ship would have been steadied and we would have I am sure been pushing above mid table to the play offs. That said we would have been in the same position that McGhee found us in at the start.

The first season he got us promoted with a glorious day out at Cardiff, the next season he walked on water keeping us in the Championship. McGhee should have been awarded manager of the season not Mourinho.

The next season we were doing ok until the last few months when the wheels came off. Leon Knight started the down turn followed by a number of players throwing their toys out of the pram, no one came in and we signed a half decent striker too late.

We had a good start this season but again cannot get a striker because we are a club going nowhere until we get the green light for Falmer.

McGhee stood by Albion and the Falmer fiasco for 3 years and was loyal to the club right to the end and for that he is a man of honour and integrity.

I am sorry to see him go and would not have sacked him myself, he earned enough credit for him to have a full season in this division and be here for when we hopefully get the good news about Falmer.

Ultimately the fans got him the sack and all the snipers behind the dug out who disgracefully abused him. Knight reluctantly bowed to fan pressure but considering the achievements he had made and the impossible position with having to sell every player asset he ever got, having jumped up players rocking the boat and having no any real money or being able to strengthen the squad through no fault of his own I do not agree with him being sacked.

I hope to see you all on the seafront on the 17th to abuse the real reason we are where we are.

Good luck Mark.

I get the impression he didn't want compensation either? As Knight said he agreed to step down. ???

I am sad to see anybody lose their job and their livelilhood but the facts speak for themselves. The guy did a great job under far from favourable circumstances but things have gone downhill.

Is it McGhee's fault ? Only time will tell but to maintain the Status Quo isn't helping. The inevitable has happened.

Well said US and let's hope everyone does get down to the demo like you say as that is a day when fan power might actually be used for the good of the club :clap2:

If he's waived a compo payment then

For the whole play-off experience, the Swindon games especially at Withers, then the Final was a magnificent day :clap2:

For keeping us up the 1st season in The Championship

But, since Xmas it has been falling apart at an alarming rate, and there is no doubt his time had come to an end.

Bloody good post Gareth. I think he had to go now but I agree with where you're coming from - see you on the 17th.

Are you really serious.

Most professional footballers only care about that the money is in the bank at the end of the week, i'm sure Falmer would be of great concern in Chinawhites on a Saturday night.

You really have fallen for it hook line and sinker.

If I could be bothered I could dig out a few threads where you seem to have lost patience with him.

How you can presume to speak on behalf of ALL of them is laughably presumptious.

I think he has a good point: most players, or workers anywhere, want to go to a place that's on the up, not facing an uncertain future.

I agree in some ways with you, most professionals are just in it for the money but if you were changing jobs would you choose to join a company that might be threatened with closure if you had other similar job offers? Sometimes the Falmer publicity can be counter-productive as most people now know about the saga, even footballers.

I DONT, but if you are offered a 3 year contract on £2000 a week how does whether we get a new stadium or not affect your income ?

Enlighten me brains....

Towards the end of last season you were calling for his head.

Show me one post where I have said sacked McGhee and I will give you £ 100.

Let me guess: you joined a dot bomb company for a big salary? Lots of people I know did. And they were all out of work a year later, richer but looking for work.

Any potential player (and their leeching agents) will be aware of the fact that, while the stadium issue is unresolved, there's not going to be much money around to bring in other decent players for you to play alongside etc.
