I’m bemused by this story, he claims his reaction was instinctive and caused by the current climate of fear around MPs being attacked. What a load of bull, no one else reacted like that. It’s because he didn’t feel threatened that he took on a woman like that. Shameful. Got to go...but he won’t, because MPs are untouchable. Look at the leading candidate for PM, how much more does someone have to feck up to end their career? Instead, they get the most powerful job in the land.

Looking at the expression on the guy's face indicated to me that this was not a man making a judgment on the basis of a risk assessment but someone who was really pi&&ed off that his evening was being ruined by a bunch of women. It was intuitive in that losing your temper is intuitive.

He is a moron for getting involved, it's not his job to deal with intruders and she was walking past him anyway. How much threat does a woman in a dress really pose? I'd hazard a guess that he wouldn't have got involved of it was a bloke bigger than him. He's a prick and a bully
But then I think: If I ran into a private event, for instance a conference on climate change, making loads of noise and being disruptive and was subsequently twatted by Caroling Lucas and marched out of the room I bet nobody would give a shit and most would applaud her for it.
The reactions here are definitely amplified because she is a woman and he's a Tory MP.

I’ve just walked through the busy French market in Shoreham. I’ve never had to knock so many women out. One little old lady (terrorist) waved a stick with some garlic prawns on it in my direction. I currently have her in a headlock and am marching her back to Newhaven. Natural instincts just kicked in, she could have had my eye out.

This woman was invading a private dinner with the intention of disruption at the very least. Assault is a bit OTT..he got hold of her and escorted her out of the room. Well done him !!
Why does the fact that he`s a "senior politician" have anything to do with it ? It seems most like to politicise everything these days !!
