Loving all the threads. Haven't the club said they are happy with business and made it clear we are going to go with what we've got. Are you bedwetters going to carry on for another few weeks still thinking there's a striker coming in?

Yes, that's precisely what they didn't say.

Very unlikely to happen. Didnt make it at "Al-Duhail" and not played in a high level league for 1,5 years or so.

Wages wouldnt be a big problem, he recently accepted a contract with a Russian club worth 2,4m euros (cant find the sign on my keyboard) per year and only pulled out when he noticed they were trying to **** him over, writing rubles instead of euros in the contract. Could see him demanding a dirty sign-on fee though.

Main issue would be that no-one knows his current status, any sensible team trying to sign him would take him on trial first. More likely to go to a country with less sensible football clubs, like Turkey, Russia or even back to Italy.

I would LOVE this. It would be an amazing signing and would show that we mean business... it just isn't going to happen though is it?

Happy for this to be bounced and me proven wrong, but he will have been on massive wages before and very much doubt he took a cut going to Qatar

Oi I'm delighted with the transfer window! I just reckon it would be UTTER FLAIR if we announced ****ing MANDZUKIC and I would absolutely love it, regardless of how many strikers we've already got.

I can't be arsed to go back and play the Dan Ashworth interview again, but his words were something like "we'd be interested in the right player at the right time (at the right price)" which means a player acquisition could always be possible.

No, I don't know anything at all.

He also said “the right age”, which may kill this one off slightly...

What planet are you on!?
I have highlighted the areas that mean, unless some MAD Vicente-like events occur, we would never be able to sign him.

Its a pretty big difference.

Vicente was a Valencia legend with a bunch of caps for Spain who suddenly decided to sign for some random Championship club. Despite his injury troubles, he could have gone to a pretty decent club in a top league. Ending up in the Championship was truly a freak incident.

Mandzukic on the other hand: not one single game in a European top league for over a year and later failing in the Qatari league. He would probably be pretty happy if any PL club had the slightest interest in him. Most likely he'll end up in a club collecting has-beens.

What is "bedwetting" about starting a thread on one of the leading European forwards of the last decade who happens to be a free agent and immediately available to all?

In this window we've lost Stephens, Duffy, Murray, Montoya, Mooy so there's been a big net outflow in experience and if we do get sucked into a dogfight we will need experienced cool heads around.
