Silly old bat
undoubtedly there will be parents who will misspend money given to them which is the whole point of giving the free lunches direct to the kids.

I agree. Ben Bradley carried on making a twit of himself this morning by claiming he had spoken to the head of a school.

The Tories really are managing to mess up this crisis, scoring own goals all over the place. This one was a bit of a no brainier politically but they still got it wrong. Four years is a long time

Wait. "Or brothels" you say? Can I change my original question?

Is that really what Tory MPs think happens in the north - you can pay for a prostitute with food?

I've got some of the vouchers left from the summer holidays, can someone please point me in the direction of a brothel that accepts Tesco vouchers? If they give clubcard points too even better. I was going to use them towards the Christmas food this year, but Daddy has needs too.

Of course there is a nugget of truth in most of these things but surely you can see why they are being accused of having a tin ear?

This. It's actually staggering how easily and completely they've fallen into what was so clearly labelled as a trap that it had blokes in hi-viz vests all round it and a massive neon sign pointing at it saying "TRAP. THIS IS A TRAP. A MASSIVE, MASSIVE TRAP."

And all for what actually amounts to a really small amount of money which frankly nobody will notice what with everything else that's going on.

Loving that there is now a petition lobbying to remove MPs right to a £25 per night food expenses allowance - is there any other breed of people, more out of touch with the real world than MPs?

Even a young footballer now on mega money gets it!

I'd say they money MPs save on their subsidised food and drink is far more likely to be spent in brothels

Most people don’t love him and the fact that you think they do is most amusing. Doing great stuff isn’t an argument unless you are a five year old.
I dislike him for his incompetence, the fact that he went to Eton is incidental. But if I was his father i would ask for my money back.
JRM is just obnoxious and isn’t particularly liked by anyone,
You really need to get this idea that I don’t like public school boy out of your head .... my daughters boyfriend went to private school. He’s a lovely lad however he’s not into football which is slightly concerning.

Again this is living in a leftie bubble, I have leftie friends but I also have friends who can think laterally and don't get caught up on angry rants all the time. They spend their energy with getting on with life rather than harping on about every small detail.
I can understand why some don't like JRM, but I find his delivery and fast brain, outstanding.

He’s SO good but also you expect to see him replaced by the next election?
He got the tories over the line, he delivered on Brexit, he has been a great success so far.

But everyone has its shelf life ie Hughton, and no doubt after Labour and the Lefties keep taking their cheap unfounded potshots at him he will take some collateral damage.
Although he has rhino skin, the Tories may feel a need to replace him with new blood.

He will IMO be talked about in the same high regard as maggie in the future.
The mould has obviously moved from his boots to his brain ....

It seems there are more Tory MPs who just can't help themselves. Here Selaine Saxby (MP for North Devon) has complained that restaurants and cafes which are digging deep to help feed starving kids should stop receiving Government help if they're prepared to "give away food for free".

Presented here are the full quote and the statement where she apologised for being "taken out of context" despite the full quote saying exactly what people accuse her of saying.

Brexit hasn’t been delivered yet that’s why there still negotiations going on. It’s not difficult grasp.

Thatcher would have ripped his head off and shat in the hole. Boris is more kinnock than Thatcher. But then It should be expected from a Boris groupie.

Oh, ‘people’ is not an answer.

not sure if we are on the same side of the debate but here goes.

the government has yet again showed its true colours and is more interested in appease the wealthy rather than helping the poor. An excuse is going around some of the Tory press that it's the parents fault and there is probably some element of truth to this but even if it is true why do the kids have to suffer? Rashford has shown more compassion than 300 Tory Mps who continue to stuff themselves in a subsidised canteen.

But Brexit will happen deal or No Deal, and Boris got us there against the odds, and the screaming of time wasters, people like Starmer, Cooper, and Lucas, I hate to think how much they have cost the country.

It's not very difficult to grasp, you have to let go as this is what is causing the anger.

Maybe they don’t have enough energy to engage in politics and get on with life?

Why would this be?

The government will have looked at the pi&& taking that has cost the taxpayer on these school meals and how much families have been able to claim during this pandemic. No one will starve.
I know of several people who have claimed vouchers when really they shouldn't have, just do the maths, the chance out there will grab all the can, and there will be some who do not contribute to the pot.

Poor old Rashford is still wet behind the ears, he thinks he knows the problem, but he doesn't he needs to chat with Boris and Rishi and understand finance and life. Not just a past experience.

I saw some chancers fruit and veg guys on the Beeb this morning, saying how they were going to give FREE Fruit and veg to the kids, wow I thought......................But they wanted donations. They already had £1500 given. I hope the revenue are watching this lot.

Well done, Marcus. Just get on and play football and give money to registered charities to help out, or perhaps he could just advise Starmer on how to get noticed in the public domain.
