I imagine it's a good bit of forethought by Gus, Painter on the bench as cover if Bridge has a recurrence of his hamstring injury during the game, not that unlikely really..

Rather Painter, who was more than adequate earlier in the season when he was called on, than a non specialist playing there...imo.

In case you hadn't noticed we are as light for cover with experienced defenders as we are with experienced forwards.

Jesus so negative. Argus reporting Bridge is 100% fit for saturday. Painter will be cover on the bench. The guy has been a model pro for the albion and has always done what is asked. Don't think I have ever been pissed off more with a performance by a footballer than his at West Ham (mainly for one goal, can't remember which but he spent his entire time looking at the bloke rather than the ball) but he has played well when required due to Bridge being out. Will be on the bench as full back cover

Agreed, he had one or two poor games but who hasn't? Generally a very good servant to the club and is a good squad member.

Bmth view - probably fair to say he didn't come in at a great time, But was very disappointing from what we thought he would be. Left back is a right royal pain in the wotsits - Charlie Daniels got injured and Matt Ritchie has been playing there to cover. But when he went off against Steveage on Tues, one of your old boys, Wes Fogden, was superb filling in (we love Foggy!!)

Need Daniels and Tommy back asap...Tommy is close to getting back after that assault by Ryan Lowe.Its really affected our season.

Good news if Bridge is back for Sunday with Painter on the bench as needed , if Bruno is out we have Calde at RB with support in front in the shape of Spanish Dave.
