I'm only a quarter English so I'd barely be welcome - they might lynch me or put a burning cross in my front garden, next to the recycling bin.

Anyway, far from for that reason alone, I'm out.

Interesting that GAFFERKNOWSBEST is promoting this 'save England' event on a website that encourages those to break the law, i.e. organised fighting/hooliganism...!

'The time is now to stand proud of being English and show we will fight to keep our English Identity. It would be nice to have families on the march as well.'

lol, On a hooligan website, we'll 'fight' to keep our identity.....oh, but bring the family along

These are definitely the boys to reclaim St George's day....

I'd say our biggest fight to maintain an English identity is not against migrants, but against EU red-tape. Who remembers buying a lb of apples, a pint of milk, a curvy banana?

The entire of the EU is becoming one giant Belgium. Next we'll all be in fancy chrome effect bars drinking fruit beer.

Does anyone here seriously miss pounds and ounces? And last time I checked, bananas still are curvy so what the f*** are you talking about?

There are simply more important things worth fighting for.

As for this stupid march, I won't be going on it because - put bluntly - I don't feel like my Englishness is being eroded in any way whatsoever.

I'm always suspicious of people who back up their claims about our way of life and identity being under threat by pointing the finger of the blame at immigrants or Europe.

If people are really concerned at a loss of national identity, why do they never express concern about the increasing 'Americanisation' of our society: it's not the EU or immigrants filling our high streets with McDonalds and Burger King, Starbucks, huge Multiplex cinemas showing dumb Hollywood action movies for plebs chomping on buckets of popcorn, shopping 'malls', obsession with tacky plastic surgically-enhanced celebriities, etc.

And given the drunken thuggery and generally moronic behaviour you see in any British town centre on a Friday and Saturday night, I'd say there are some aspects of the 'British way of life' that we should welcome the disappearance of.

I've often found that people who boast about how much they 'love my country' seem to be motivated more by hatred of anyone who's different to them.
hold on, look at the people working in these food outlets a lot of them cant speak our language, slave labour i say, send them back enough is enough

Some people think the best for England is to shut down freedom of speech
Some people....well you get the idea.

Unfortunately, there are 1,000s upon 1,000s of English that would agree with you and have no inclination to work whatsoever or seek work and are more than happy for the state to provide for them. I don't see the problem with immigrants that come over here to better themselves and work hard.

Don't you think this might be offensive to non-English people??

Why the f*** is it offensive?? Do the irish sip Guinness quietly in a pub on Paddys day in fear of upsetting the English?

you have got the wrong end of the stick, were not talking about poncing off the state we are talking about immergrants living mob handed in property,s being exploited by scumbags with their own interests at heart overloading of the social services and so it goes on and on ,ive worked with plenty of poles and they are hard working, its just that their country is dictated to by the roman catholic church which has sent a lot of their youth on the way out of the country in the direction of the good old UK

Thanks for making that point "Das Reich" (charming name btw). I'm no linguist, but shouldn't that be Der Reich?

But did I say that it was for promoting violence? However, it does charmingly say at the top of the page "THIS IS A HOOLIGAN FORUM FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN THE HOOLIGAN SCENE. THIS FORUM IS NOT FOR SCHOOL KIDS OR BULLSHITTERS." (Capitalisation from the site).

I wasn't sure (I speak German quite well, but am a little rusty), so I checked it out, and it would appear that "Das Reich" is the correct version.

Either way - it's a charming nod to the Nazi regime in the Second World War.

Indeed.

Whether it's "der" or "das" doesn't make a difference to the connotations of the name, and presumably gives an insight into the mind (small as it probably is) of the person behind it.
