Don't have time to read your blog right now, but I agree with what your saying.

As a complete side note, seeing the name Geelong takes me back to the days of childhood when I used to look out for the results of Brighton in Australia, when the pools changed during the summer. Victoria Division Two. I remember names like Dandenong and Box Hill being amongst the Victorian elite.

No issues with them marching.

I'm proud of our freedom of speech laws and long may it continue.

I'm unashamedly left-wing and have grown up in a tolerant and liberal town.

But, I can't tolerate a load of fascist thugs banging on about bringing 'their own brand of mayhem' to my hometown and just do nothing about it.

Thankfully we have moved on from Victorian times and into the 21st century.
If these practices are going on in the Middle East then we can do little about it.......when it is creeping into the UK, then it needs to be confronted.

But how exactly is the EDL and their marching doing anything other than harming the actual message?

The trouble is that the government and police have done precious little. Choudary and his lot are free to do as they please, don't forget where and why the EDL were formed.
These groups will keep springing up until the government and police tackle the extremists......which they are to scared to do.

Show me where those words in inverted commas are used on MFE publication/marketing/press releases? Or are you just making them up?

Oh come on. You must have seen the stuff produced from the EDL lot - I'm not excusing the behaviour of the left side.

The police did a good job separating everyone.

So how many (and include the last few marches) have been arrested from the marchers as opposed to the antis ?

'Doing something about it' is fine.

Having a scrap with the OB three hours after the EDL have returned to Romford is just plain stupid though IMO.

I don't know. The figure is 29 for this year and no figures have been released yet. I'm not defending either side. I'd imagine the UAF have more arrested as they are they are the ones goaded (and make up the majority of the crowd).

I'm suggesting the morons marching under the guise of celebrating England are going about their message in the wrong sense and the other lot are exacerbating the situation. They are both the twits of the playground.

The best way to settle things would be to talk about the growing Muslim population and the ramifications, everyone seems a little scared to do so. I think it is an important topic, but I'm not going to pay any attention to the morons who turn up, get drunk and show an absolute lack of anything human,

Fear of being labelled racist still prevails.

Hopefully the problem will go away when our government grow a pair act, and let the police do their job.

March for St George's day ! APPARENTLY ..... Not actually on St George's day either which was Wednesday.
Probably all had to sign on that day or check in with their probation officers.
And there is some thick 45 stone skinhead (not my twin) wearing a T-Shirt
with a Union Jack on it ??????? :ffsparr:
Also many entries for next years Crufts England's most dangerous dog category.
And not all the quadrepedic variety !!!

Yes , yes makes me proud to be an Englishman.. ****ing NOT !!

It' all changed with the A league now, the standard has risen but the poor Geelong teams are struggling a bit.

Rent a mob, I bet loads of them attend any 'anti' protest, be it poll tax, council tax, anti hunting, pro hunting, G8, Student loans, march for England...shame the lazy ***** don't put as much enoegy into making the country a better place. 100 hundred knuckle draggers outnumbered by 1000 deluded twats

Ah, that would be the Millwall and Palarse contingents then

That is such a red herring. Mohammed is the only islamic first name in the top 100 boys names for 2012. It appears in three forms making a total of 7139 children and it makes up just 3.5% of the 200K odd births those top 100 names account for. The top ten boys names listed are Harry, Oliver, Jack, Charlie, Jacob, Thomas, Alfie, Riley , William and James, all traditional British names and together representing 55k children. The story of the top 100 is not one of a creeping islamisation of childhood, but of a curious absense of "ethnic" names in the data.

You can find the data for yourself here. http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/publications/re-reference-tables.html?edition=tcm:77-318071

whatever happened to Steves and Andys.......... it's a disgrace

Yep. Then unfortunately many others joined in and the actual event of 2008 and 2009 was lost.

I have heard, as justification, 'why can't we celebrate St George's Day?', presumably in comparison to St Patrick's. The simple fact is you can. No one is stopping anyone celebrating St George. In fact a guy who works for me is a scout leader and they have an annual parade on the day and in their own town.

We do not have the partying culture that the Irish have which is why traditionally St Pats is bigger but I think this is changing given how many English people are prepared to go out and get battered on Guinness with a silly hat on during March 17. I would love us to have a proper saints / national day. A national holiday where I could spend the day telling my kids the great things about our country including our tolerence, acceptance, fairness and multiculturalism. Then a few Brirish ales in the evening in my local surrounded by my community. Sounds fab.

Doesn't sound like the MFE though. If these people are so proud of St George they should organise something on the day in their own towns. Then we could go back to laughing at the SWP / Smash EDO loons for the dipshits they truly are.

It would have been great if they had been ignored. 60-200 (depending on who you believe) dopes marching in the rain with no-one paying any attention to them.

They would have found a way to shoot themselves in the foot without those hell bent on granting them their wish of a ruck.

£500k police costs last year. How much this year?

People give them too much credit. It's not akin to fighting fascism or Nazisim. The EDL is dying a slow death. Ignoring them would not be a sign of accepting their values.

Besides, isn't it a march to celebrate all things England and non-political?

I think about 60 or 70 is a fair assessment of their numbers give or take.

I dread to think what the cost is.I got a section 60 coming out of the station from an officer from bloody Cornwall.

The whole thing was absolutely daft, the anti brigade have lofted this tiny group to some sort of super evil Nazi outfit, The reality is all they are after is a scrap with anyone who wont conform to their thinking or they simply dont like including the police.

They should ask themselves serious questions as to why they dont just ignore these few loons instead of holding the city to ransom.I doubt they will though.

I can only presume groups like the Socialist Workers Party who seemed to very obvious in their attendance handing out leaflets and placards have something to do with influencing the mindset of the antis that were attending.

What a joke all be it a very expensive one.

Even if it is 200 pro March for Englanders and 500 antis it's a tiny total. Of which something like 4% of them were arrested - that is a huge number.

Any future March for England can't be justified. It's anti-social and makes a point nobody is interested in.

Let them carry on. I like the fact the only message their demonstration gets across is that they are minority group of knuckle-dragging goons which no one gives two hoots about.
