Agreed. I would wager his performances would improve as well. Wouldn't that be a hoot?I would totally have him back, for a discount price, despite everything.

I'd only have him back for the express purpose of repeatedly telling him he was going warm weather training but then flying him to Guatemala with no explanation, clothes or wallet.Agreed. I would wager his performances would improve as well. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
Reports from our board are saying we've got a buy-back clause on him, at 20% of original sale price.I'd only have him back for the express purpose of repeatedly telling him he was going warm weather training but then flying him to Guatemala with no explanation, clothes or wallet.
We don't know that. Cucurella might think that though judging by the reception we gave him.Bridges burnt.

If we know Pervis is off in the summer I would do it, certainly. But otherwise he'd be too expensive for a back up.
People are fickle. The speed they switched from loving Cucu to booing him, they can flip back on a whim. The reaction from certain 'supporters' at games will make it untenable.
What did you mean by this exactly? I assume from the quotation marks that you consider people who reacted negatively towards Cucurella to not be proper supporters? Because literally the entire ground booed his every touch when we played them at home. The reaction from certain 'supporters' at games will make it untenable.
That would be a fantastic deal for us!Reports from our board are saying we've got a buy-back clause on him, at 20% of original sale price.
Cucu also played LCB for us, quite well, IIRC.I thought that’s why the deal with Man U fell down - neither Chelsea or Cucu wanted a break clause in the contract - why they didn’t agree a loan deal, I don’t know - that might have suited both parties better - certainly City would have gone for it I reckon.
Ben Chillwell happened. Cucu was never a Left Centre Back which is where Potter played him at Chelsea (presumably to cover injured Koulibaly) he’s a Left Back/Left Wing Back - he looked like he’d had his wings clipped in that central position and Potter didn’t have a clue what he was doing with his defence in the early days so he didn’t really get a chance to bed in. Problem is Chillwell (and Sterling who also played that role) are both better players so he struggled to start last season (and had injuries/family issues.) He’s started much more this season but playing out of position again at Right Back. I did think until we had had Pervis for a few months and Colwill, I would like to have seen Cucu back, he could be very useful and versatile in a way he wasn’t before - but maybe too much water has gone under the bridge and we can do better ?… the role of LB under RDZ has changed certainly - we need an attacking player who can make more impact in the final third but who knows, Cucu certainly showed that flair at Brighton in a LWB position…I certainly wouldn’t boo him coming back..
Sanchez and Cucu are both out injured now though.
True. He was bloody good for us- even as the left side of a three; still seemed to be right up in their half, regardless!Aah maybe, I can’t remember (I recall we got Colwill into CB at the time he left) but I do know he flew up that wing as LB when he was with us, there was a little of something of Mitoma about him and was also very fast to get back too - Chelsea ruined him.
I’m surprised people still get confused about what a sell on clause is after the widely published issues with Rosario and Buonanotte. Facu had a £20m release clause that Rosario put into a new contract deal with Buonanotte after turning down our original offer. We ended up agreeing to a sell on clause on top of the £10.6m we paid which will be 20% of what we eventually sell him for.Completely untrue….
But hey, believe what you want!
Klopp definitely taking the piss…There was a Facebook post yesterday about Moises wanting a move to Liverpool in January and him saying it was the biggest mistake of his life joining Chelsea instead of Liverpool. Also, Jurgen Klopp not being interested.
Pervis is better though, he helped us achieve a top six finish. He’s faster stronger and scores goals. How often do left-backs win player of the season at any club? I think the bitterness that surrounded his departure has made some people forget just how good Cucurella was for us.
Can't see him coming back anyway, I suspect his next move will be to a mid-table Spanish club. But if I could welcome Murray back from Palace, I've no doubt I could welcome Cucu back from Chelsea.
Absolutely and how we miss him right now. Pervis is l think one of the very best left backs in the Premier League.Pervis is better though, he helped us achieve a top six finish. He’s faster stronger and scores goals.
