So Romano is in the know because he was told a bid was going in and he has kept repeating it over and over again for 6 weeks.

Surely if he was ITK he would have said nothing until yesterday.

Yeah so he knew a bid was coming six weeks before they actually made the bid.

If Naylor tweeted that a bid from a specific club regarding a specific player was about to happen and then six weeks later it actually happened, people would lick his feet.

City themselves briefed the Mail that they wanted Cucurella for £30 million more than six weeks ago. Romano has just picked that up and added his own guesswork, with a sprinkling of agent pressure (remembering that if Cucurella doesn't get the move but does get a better contract the agent has still done his job - c.f. Dunk, Lewis).

So did everyone ? Romano wasn’t the first person who reported it 6 weeks ago

I’m sure on multiple occasions he is ITK through his close sources, however with this one he hasn’t reported ANYTHING that others haven’t reported first.

Naylor was also way in front in regard to reporting the bid was declined.

Yes he gets most of his information through agents, which is a great source and there is a fair chance that they were aware that City would make a bid before Brighton actually recieved it.

Naylor stated that Brighton were aware of interest in May. So it makes sense that he probably knew before your Twatterverse Oracle Romano did!

I think the difference is Romano has been saying basically the same thing every day for a month. Naylor hasnt. We all expected this to happen (city make a low bid, brighton reject it). That doesnt make us ITK any more than Romano saying "a city bid is ready to go and will be put in anyday now" a month or so ago,and repeated every couple of days since.
The fact that Naylor and Owen have been saying no bid made until the last 24 hours indicated they are actually more ITK than Romano has been over the Cucurella affair

I suspect it wasn't your intention, but you're playing into Swanny's game here, which is to set things up as a battle between the 'groupies' of Romano and Naylor. I trust both of them who, while both journalists, have very different roles within that widening pool. The former has established himself as the best transfer specialist, alongside Ornstein; the latter has worked on BHA for over three decades, and has the best access to the club, alongside Owen.

Be carefull what you say, some on here are so far up Romano backside they think evert thing he says is true.

All he does is retweets others or puts 2+2 together and get 10.

Romano is barely a level above the non-blue-tick Twitter transfer accounts operated by a teenagers from their bedrooms in between Tommy Tanks.

ive probably been whooshed, happens a lot! it seems strange behavior to create a meaningless "battle" over it. Romano seems to be obsessed with this transfer, his oft tweeted -bid anyday now for over a month proves he isnt itk over this, although heis better placed than most for a larger numvber of clubs, Naylor and Owen though simply have the links to Brighton- even our own Bossa gets "embargoed" info, so Naylor and Owen must get it as well

Next report will be Cuca has handed in transfer request, i hope not but wouldn't be surprised if he does

I'm not saying it holds much weight, but he only a few weeks ago moved from Shoreham beach to a nice house in Hove. Does he really want to move again to the slums of Manchester?

He won’t hand in a transfer request. Suspect the club have had a very clear discussion with him/his agent - we don’t want you to go, we’ll upgrade your contract etc etc but we’ll only be selling you if City meet our asking price.

Can’t see City jumping from 30 to over 50 in this window.
