I'm relaxed about the entire situation. If he goes, he goes. If he stays then great.

We've come a very long way since losing our best players was a disaster. I remember losing Zamora and Cullip thinking that was it. At the time not realising that those sales would be the very reason we are where we are today.

We have some of the best people in charge of our club, and if they decide that we sell, then that is good enough for me.

The only flaw with this approach is that it only works if Brighton want to sell. As we don't then its has zero chance of intimidating anyone, let alone Tony Bloom, or whoever they talk to at Brighton.

People seem to think that this is a negotiation between Brighton and City, it isn't.

City may have made a mistep in transferring Zinchenko to Arsenal , they now need a LB, and time is ticking. They need to get a deal on a LB sooner rather than later- so that puts more cards in Tonys hands. We all know there is no effective limit on what they CAN pay, but the question is WILL they pay over the odds for Cucu, when there are LB available for less who have achieved more

If Man City are actively looking at alternatives then they do have a limit , and I have a suspicion that the amount Brighton will ask for exceeds that, and that whislt still possible, everyday no bid is received makes it more unlikley Cucu is going

Too much smoke without fire for them not to be interested IMO, even if they haven't made an approach. People say that they don't know that Brighton are not tough negotiators... well, personally I think they're well aware and won't make an approach before they feel they can make a very serious bid and before they know there is room in the squad (Guardiola likes to work with quite a limited number of players). Might have other players in mind as well, but I do think they're interested in Cucurella. How it turns out in the end is a different question.

I believe the club when they say ‘no bid’.

However, that does not preclude there having been an enquiry. An enquiry that probably resulted in an eye watering response. If this has happened, City will be looking at all options very closely indeed, this will include what players they could ship out in order to keep the right side of FFP and also what other targets they might consider.

I would guess that they received a very different response from Leeds when asking about the availability of Philips. Leeds were looking at a substantial rebuild and wanted the cash in the bank early, we are a different proposition. There is also 7 weeks left of the window, I don’t think that they are necessarily leaving it so long, it’s more a reflection on the difficulty of prising Cucu from our grasp. I hope they move on soon and sign someone else!

I've been a fan since 2018 and became one by the simplest of ways: A local sports bar to me shows all the Premier League games and I went to one with a friend of mine just to get some beers and Albion was one of the games on; they were playing West Ham at the Amex. We just started watching it having no allegiance with either club, but even still I jumped up hollering when Glenn Murray scored not knowing really who he was lol, and after that I just started watching the club more and really like the culture and everything associated with it.

To be fair also, not much of a football fan before that day(At least club wise I did watch the USMNT) but now I love the sport and besides watching Albion I have a season ticket to Charlotte FC in the MLS also. I hope to get to the Amex sooner rather than later!

I agree, I'm normally one of the first to stick the boot in on a Saturday afternoon when we've not got the result we wanted and I'll admit that I'm probably the most pessimistic of fans on this forum. But also one of the most sensible posters. Those posts you're referring too are usually just out of frustration more then anything and the usual helmets ALWAYS bite. I think that says more about them.

The club are in safe hands, and get 95% of decisions right, especially transfer business. There will always be fans out there who won't be satisfied unless we spend £50m a season, or obscene amounts of money on an "accomplished" striker.

I've said since the end of last season, I don't see us splashing out, I think we've signed our striker in Undav. I think we have Trossard's replacement here in Sarmiento. The only thing I want us to do now is to get Caicedo a longer deal, to improve the fee we get for him. If we do that and also get Alex McAllister an extension then this summer would have been an excellent window, providing we replace Cucurella if/when he leaves.

Got £20 with a pal that we'll finish 9th or above this season, I wanted 10th but he wouldn't take it!
