True, but unless TB also has a Men In Black-style brain-wiping device to be used when they leave, they will have a very good idea of the players were are looking at now with a view to buying in 2 or 3, perhaps even 5 or 6 years' time. Which is why Ashworth jumping ship to a moneybags rival is probably the biggest setback of all.

Indulge me and elaborate, because I think I disagree with you on this. We won't have info on just one player in each position, but several. In the time frames you suggest, TB et al will be generating new info/data which will mean that player A looks more attractive than player B at time X+2 whereas it was the reverse at time X. That past knowledge that DA has supposedly eloped with to Sportswashing x.O FC will be out of date, shirley.

Got to laugh, we normally shit our pants all summer about an elusive PL ready striker not signing. This season it’s because we are going to lose all our best players. I am in the same boat but recent history tells us “trust the club”, we actually know nothing so maybe we do just need to do that?

As an aside, it’s pretty **** of Cucurella to “like” the Philips transfer, I hope he got a bollocking from the club

I suspect it was his agent, or even an office junior at the agency, whose finger was on the "like" button.

He’s gone IF City pay what we want, he’s miscalculating badly if he thinks he has an influence. Going nowhere if not, and posting likes does him no favours imo.

I think I agree with you.

The thing with models - any data modelling - is that it changes all the time according to circumstances. Models are being constantly re-done, otherwise actuaries wouldn't have a job and we'd all be insuring horses and carts based on their risk price in the 17th century.

DA will know the long list but he won't have access to anything we've done, changed or added since his gardening leave, and he'd be on very dodgy territory if he tapped one up from that period.

Breaking News: Fans on a team message board come across like complete knobheads to other teams fans.

Every forum is exactly the same in that regard, including this one. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how many ITK wafflers say he’s agreed personal terms. They’re only saying that because it’s the safest thing to say (If he doesn’t sign you can just say the clubs couldn’t agree to a deal) that still sounds like actual news.

Man City either stump up the money we want, which will probably be £60m or Cucurella spends another season here. We aren’t going to knock £20m off the price because they offered to let us develop a player they can’t be arsed to give minutes to for them. A forum full of City fans who don’t realise they’re becoming everything they used to mock United fans for and a forum of Brighton fans getting on their moral superiority high horse won’t make a difference.

Why don't city fans realise that this is a case of a reluctant seller. We don't want to lose Cucurella. We don't want to sell him at all. If the buyer wants to buy something that we don'tnt want to sell, OF COURSE the price will be ridiculously above the market value. Correct, market price had nothing to do with it.

We don't want him to go, in fact we want him to play for us. We're not exploiting the situation, we're trying to keep hold of an asset and will only take a price that makes it impossible to say no.

I agree.

I think that because we don't want to sell then the price is simply the price.

There is no room for negotiating it.

In some circumstances, a selling team will be flexible on the price and a deal can be done at a reduced fee. I don't see those circumstances with Cucurella.

It is pure entitlement to expect a price negotiation. There is simply a price tag, not a haggle situation.

The dumbest comment repeated on Twitter was about an "expectation" that the price would be reduced. Pure hubris.

And a very good one it is too.

Very knowledgeable, and if he ever came over, I definitely would like to meet up with him and have a chat.

Maybe I could go back to the old days and we could have a fat one, after a pizza obvs. [emoji3]

Funny seeing Man city fans getting irate we are not giving them the respect they think they deserve.

How divorced from reality do you have to be to imagine that people who dislike their team must be fans of one of their rivals.

Of course, nobody would be at all bothered by an organisation with the wealth of an oil rich nation behind it and to put it mildly, a lax attitude to FFP, unless they were bitter Liverpool or Man Utd fans. Yeah, right. No fans of other clubs were at all bothered by them and the other showers of carpetbagging scumbags at the rest of the big six plotting in secret to run off to their franchise league and shaft a century of football culture. Nobody minds that they learnt no lesson from the response, but went straight back to UEFA pleading for special treatment just in case there was a season when their massive financial advantage didn't see them qualify for the trough by playing football.

Here's a message for any City fans reading this. Your club are a carbunkle on English football's backside. You are despised by any right thinking fan of any other team. However, we also despise the other five carbunkles just as much. The six of you leeches had only one Friend in football and he has just retired. Yes if you want one of our players, you will be able to cheat any means introduced to level the financial playing field and get him. And yes we do know that what your club does to us, our club will be doing to those further down the food chain. That's hard reality in an unfair and poorly regulated marketplace. When it comes down to it, the richer you are, the more successful you'll generally be. You have the money, so if you want Cucu, you'll get him, but make no mistake, it will cost you every penny we can screw out of you, because all of your previous success means nothing to people who support their local club and you are entitled to nothing more than what your fat wallet will buy you.

Its nothing personal. That's just football supporting and everybody has the same attitude to every other team whatever their perceived status

I love how some shitty fans call us plastics, if they looked at our history at looking how our fans fought for a club to support. Rich comming fron them.

They can not even fill the emptyhad with all the talent at there disposal. Horrible club with horrible fans. A failed manager who can win the domestic league but is a failure with all that money in Europe. The wholly grail for them is the champions league, i hope they fail.
