Could somebody please seek Paul Robinson's opinion? Would it be 'Man City need the top level of player if they're going to compete with Man City and Cucurella isn't that?

I get the feeling that both him and his family have taken some time to settle I the area. I would have thought that another move to another new country (The North) would be tough for them. Another year at least I reckon.

Although city and pep would be a fair draw for the lad.

Wonder if City are trying to turn his head early in the summer as they know the best way of getting him is if he asks to go.

...or it could be bollocks.

V good interview in the Athletic this morning

Well if City did start bidding we're in about as strong a position as you can be to demand a big fee. He's 1 year into a 5 year contract, he's just had a fantastic season getting 2 player of the season awards, he's only 23 so plenty of years ahead of him, and we have no desire/need to sell. After spending £100m on Grealish and us selling BW for £50m last summer, there's no way they could come in with £30m and think it'll be taken seriously. It will be £50m+

More likely his agent leaking a nonsense story to get his client a pay rise.

Have taken time to settle (but fine now) - or still struggling? (Can't read the Athletic)

TLDR - Found it difficult at first (language, new country, young family) - much better now (learnt to speak English, help of team mates like Bruno, Rob Sanchez, Brighton is a great place).

I'm very confident we won't sell. There's every reason to think that the Marc will nail down the first choice LB spot for Spain by the time the world cup comes around. If he does and Spain go far, which they probably will, another £30m to 45m goes on the price tag

Amended for you

The 'Spurs Web Opinion' comments after the article shows that they know what they're talking about a lot better than Paul Robinson!

And the Spurs forum has them mostly talking about him as a great signing and surprised he's that cheap. I think they're going to be the new Leeds / Arsenal at learning that press speculation about how much "Brighton want" for a player is useless.

A fair few posts on there showing posters desired future line up includes Bissouma, Cucurella and Lamptey FFS. Although they go on to talk about how 'Chelsea let Lamptey go' LOL

If they want to become Tottenham and Hove Albion they'll need to part with £150m-£200m I'm afraid.

If money isn't too much of an obstruction, then Cucurella makes perfect sense for ManCity. He is an outstanding player, great on the ball, can play wingback, fullback or the 3rd centreback. Comfortable on the ball, quick, busy and hardworking.

City paid £61m for then 23 yr old Dias, £58m for Cancello (who was 25), £58m for Laporte also 23. Would assume Tony would need to hear an offer of at least £60m before he even takes a phone call.

An interesting use of the word 'if'.
You're going to have to talk me through the definition!

The Guardian have the story too:

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-cucurella-a-summer-transfer-target-guardiola

They think a bid of 35million could kland him. Yes, I guess it could. But so could a fiver...

They also say that MAn City could be in for a central midfielder as Fernandinho is set to leave and Gundogan is reportedly looking to leave.

How about we sell them Cucurella and Bissouma for a round 100million?

You will have to relocate from God's own County to Lankyshire, It would have to be several miilions before I considered it...
