He'll get booed by the few rather than the majority. Bit like Graham after the Leeds draw last season. I'm gutted to lose him but pleased we get what he's worth rather than city thinking they can get him at basement price. Wouldn't it be good to see him and chelsea pip city to the title with Marc making a man of match performance to clinch it!(despite it being chelsea)

Even if they don't pip City, as long as someone does then they'll look back on this and regret trying to hardball us. They have good players and generally when a team is that strong not winning something isn't down to the 11. I hope they win nothing, especially the UCL, and it would be lovely if they get exposed at LB more this season like they did in the community shield (as per the take I took from the TalkSport comm while on the road).

Whilst I kinda 'get' the attraction of doubling one's wages, I do struggle with the concept of moving clubs to secure one's future. Surely, most Premier League players will earn well in excess of £20M during their career - is this not enough? If I was happy in a club, I would be more than happy to stay, if I was earning "only" £50K per week, so it just seems (to me) that greed is the only motivation, and very little to do with securing their/the family's future.
Of course, for we lesser mortals, I would happily go elsewhere to double my wages, as even then, I doubt I would earn enough to retire early, but the sums involved for players are astronomical, even at the 'lower' end of the scale.
Maybe it's just me?

If it was wages only I’m sure he would have alerted Newcastle, he’s gets champions league football, more chance of domestic silverware and more chance of breaking into the national team.
All increase the chance of getting the dream move back to Barcas first team

I’m pretty sure if for some reason he doesn’t get his move this window, he’ll give as much as he did last season.
I would imagine as a kid he dreamed of winning league titles, cups, champions league and the World Cup with Spain. Let’s be honest, league title and champions league simply won’t happen with us, winning a cup might with a friendly draw and playing for Spain is less likely than if playing at top of league and champions league - World Cup in a few months.
I would imagine he would push just as hard for a move if the money was the same or possibly even for less cash if it meant he could compete for titles.

He's more likely to get a chance to play for the national team, if he's playing regularly (and playing well) for us, than sitting on a bench fighting for a place? I hope it works out for him and bear him no ill will, I just find it disappointing...that's all.
Unlike Biss who absolutely fookin loves his chant and I'm certain us belting it out would put him off his game.
Disagree with this. Look how many squad players from Chelsea, Liverpool and United play for England who would not get in our first choice defence!

True, but I'd be surprised if Chelsea spend £50m+ on a LB/LWB/LCB that isn't going to be challenging the first team. Chelsea don't have the unlimited funds they used to under Abramovich, so need to be more efficient in their business. Tuchel likes to play 3 at the back with rapid wing backs. Cucurella fits in twofold there.

I will still love him where ever he goes.
He deserves big money, he is a quality player and I thought half way through last season he would fit like a glove in City's team. Shame it's Chelsea really.

I hope he gets the game time he deserves, as he enjoyed with us. Still, this is all (currently) theoretical, as there's still no announcement of his departure.
