What’s it called? Cumbernauld
Since we’ve lost those due to injury and sales we seem totally incapable of winning. Not only were Webster and burn excellent defenders but their ability to bring the ball forward creating that extra bit of space seems to be incredibly important to how we score goals and win games. This will be the area that’ll be strengthened significantly in the summer

(If potters still in a job)

The reason we didn't score yesterday was due to our inability to shoot on target. That's what needs to be fixed.

Yeah you're absolutely right.

No one wants to hear that though.
This thread will quickly revert to, "why are our strikers so shit?"
Without wanting to hear the answer:
"They aren't. Our build up play is too slow, giving opponents plenty of time to organise. What we actually need is more pace in attack, or marauding full backs turning defence into attack quickly."

But are marauding wing backs basically now don't maraud. Even when presented with the chance to take on the fullback 1 on1 and possibly pulling other defenders out of position the GP narrative is to keep the ball so they cut back and pass back giving the opposition all the time in the world to get back into formation.

Or both could be true ?

We miss maurading centre backs, ability to attack with pace, ability to play ball into space that gives forwards a half chance and strikers who know how to place ball into net. Apart from that we are fantastic

erm because thats the problem, not scoring. a maruading defender might make for nice attacking play but if the result is off target, its kinda redundant.
also, if we've lost these crucial players then we should have tactically adjusted and compensated. so really its Potters coaching failing to respond. (skipping over slow progression, straight to blame Potter).

Says a lot that the reason we are absolutely rubbish at scoring goals is because we sold 2 centre backs and the other got injured

And the reason for that is that with no threat from the centre-backs our opponents can afford to double up on our full backs.
We are 1 dimensional when we have to stick to a back 4.
When the defense were getting drawn to Webster/Burn/White/Veltman it freed up the wingbacks.

I’m not particularly enjoying Potter shoehorning Cucurella into that role, it diminishes he’ his effectiveness on the flank where he’s been so good for us.
