MASSIVE Brighton NSC turn-out looming in April. Will at least need a pre-race picture (and possibly a post race beer) ?
YES!

So has anyone booked a first marathon? Or adding to their totals this year?
Any marathon New Years resolutions?
Planning on having a go at these, may add some others in after the summer
Dymchurch (Saxon Shore) 24/1
Darkstar 31/1
Stinger 6/3
Moyleman 13/3
SDW50 9/4
Brighton 17/4
Three Forts 1/5
Arun River Run 14/5
SDW100 11/6
Lunar-tic July
Farnham Pilgrim September
Mouth-to-mouth date TBC
Beachy Head October
No real resolutions. Would just like to get a bit better, avoid injury and keep enjoying it. It's a privilege to be able to run.
Is Lunar-tic definitely on this year, Dazza? I looked it up the other day but found no mention of it.Planning on having a go at these, may add some others in after the summer

I came in two seconds ahead of you at HP then, SF. After a 23-min parkrun last week I was quite pleased with getting below 22 again. So who has started their marathon training for the spring?
I have just completed week one of my training programme for Brighton marathon (although I am doing one next month, which I will treat as a long run!). I did Hove Park 5k yesterday (as part of the programme of course). As it has been 3 months since I last ran it, I knew my time wouldn't be great, but 21:58 was 30 seconds slower than my average 5k time for 2015. It's amazing how quickly the speedwork vanishes! Will run Preston Park 5k next week - hopefully a bit better time, with a longish run on the Sunday - yay

There are a few on your list I would love to try - not this year though. I think London, Brighton, Lunar-tic, and IOW should do it for me. Might be one more in there somewhere...
Yes, but I don't think date is confirmed yet. They have already got the medals sorted (I've seen them) - 4 interlocking for anyone that does their series of 4 river marathons this year (incidentally, the brother of one of the STE organisers is a regular poster on NSC). Highly recommended event - no need to be a racing snake, very much a fun thing. One of my favorites last year

Looks good. Had a beautiful swim in the river by the start last August. Blue sky, blue water, Downland. Tempting..........
Yep - sounds awesome. And probably the only marathon I can do where I can walk to the start lineYes, but I don't think date is confirmed yet. So how's everyone's running going?
Seem to see a lot of runners pounding the seafront especially at weekends.
Anyone entered any marathons of late. We all need to know!
I'm all set to return to running on Feb 15th after a lengthy lay off. Chicago have released their time qualifier criteria which, as anticipated, I meet. So, it's couch to marathon in 8 months.
