Nothing like a decent Clementine but the trouble is that they are soooo unpredictable. One is easy peel and sweet, the next one from the bag needs a pickaxe to peel and is either dry or sour or both.

Is it just me that scrapes the pitch off the peel (using teeth)? I also sometimes nibble at the peel despite scare stories of beetle dung being used to bring on a shine.

I look forward to the legal act coming in to force allowing/encouraging/ensuring odd shaped fruit to hit the stores (I can't remember the exact act).

Don't they crop twice a year in Spain like the normal Valencian oranges?

To be honest i don't really know, i'm pretty much at the limit of satsuma knowledge It may be something to do with satsumas coping with colder weather, maybe they prefer growing in the colder months
