I read that ManUre have had 58 FAC ties in a row televised live in the UK, which only ended in R3 this year.

But I won't be going via Swindon. OK the club should go the whole hog and pay for match and train tickets, Stella's and Mini Cheddar's for the train and pre match beers in the City centre, let's hope it's not a 12.30 kick off I want my monies worth. Barber in!

Don't believe it can be on the Monday, as it is an International Break.
Not sure that anything has actually changed.
You're right they would have avoided United and City playing on the same day, but the same is surely true of QFs at both United and Wigan? Especially given the opposition - Saints and Albion would be using the very same trains / roads, etc.

Last year it was announced on the Thursday so we may have a couple of days to wait yet.

however, shall only be 48 hours.
e) Friendly matches on dates outside the coordinated international match calendar
These matches do not take priority over matches in a national championship. A club is not
obliged to release a player who has been called up if the friendly match in question is to be held
on a date outside the coordinated international match calendar. In accordance with Article 36
Paragraph 4, a player shall only be released to the national association if his club agrees to his
release.
Looking at the calendar, seems the friendlies are being played on the Friday 23rd so the 48hr rule will allow the match on the Monday. That said, I bloody hope it isn't.

Just in case anyone was going to wait for the replay...... there won't be one.
Brighton & Hove Albion’s Emirates FA Cup fate will be decided inside one meeting against Manchester United next month - with no replays possible across the four quarter-final ties.
The FA confirmed the rule change in 2016 after years of replays in the final eight of the competition, and this season will be the second successive year that replays will not apply.
The decision was made as part of an ongoing review into the famous competition, as The FA show their commitment towards easing English football's congested fixture schedule.
The Seagulls secured a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford back in 1981 to force the Red Devils into a replay at the Goldstone Ground, however the visitors progressed with a 2-0 win on the south coast.
If Chris Hughton’s team are to book a semi-final date at Wembley Stadium in April, they’ll have to get the job done at the home of the 2016 FA Cup winners, with extra time and penalties both possible.

I’ll go if it’s on a Sunday but I’ll be working every other day that weekend
It was only 5 or 6 years ago we took 6000+ to Liverpool for a 4:30 kick off on a Sunday.
