Tough viewing.

I'm not sure how I feel about that first half. We weren't great but it's the first time in a while, certainly under De Zerbi where we've been so clearly inferior and outclassed. I've got used to us being a match for pretty much anyone, it's a bit of a jolt when it's suddenly this one sided.

City look like they have an extra couple of players, we can't get near them and they're doing whatever they want, whenever they want. Our inability to defend as a unit and constantly giving the ball away isn't helping but City just seem really on it.

I wonder what De Zerbi will, or can, do to counter it.

Why have we not retired the 37 year old after 15 mins today? With a 21 and 19 year old way out of their depth, that need rescuing too.

I expect tea urns to be thrown at half time and the above to be either helped out or rested.

Come on Brighton.

Got to get Gilmour on at HT, for either Pedro or Adringa and move Pedro to RW. We need another body in central midfield.
Agree. Think this is the next stage in the RDZ evolution. Don't play 2 forwards away in a really hard away game complemented by two very attacking wingers who can't defend very well. See Villa also

That was very bad, City completely dominant, and didn't have to go any higher than 2nd gear. We look like a bunch of lightweights, don't know what's going on.

Collectively shit, making a good team look brilliant. Unforced errors, coupled with a few looking star struck. I don't single players out, but pedro has been awful and adingra playing like he's never seen a ball before. Baleba made a mistake and seems to still have it on his mind.
Dunk seems to be doing ok!
Making a brilliant team look brilliant.

First time in a while we've been outclassed lol ? Did you watch villa ?

De zerbi is such an overrated manager at the moment.

Got to be a RDZ hairdryer at half time surely.

We don't look interested.

Why are we starting these games with no tempo?
We actually started pretty well. It’s just that it only lasted about 5 minutes. Can’t put my finger on what’s wrong. Maybe City are quite good…

People need to get a grip, we have had an awful run of fixtures and all will be looking up at the end of next month. Chill.
I knew this would happen (and said so earlier in the thread) when I noticed the number of people predicting an Albion win despite all the evidence against it. Zero expectations for this one.

My only hope was no injuries or red cards, then Welbeck does his hamstring :nono:

City are playing brilliantly and I don't think anyone could cope with them today. Hopefully the second half will be better! The good thing is that under RDZ you live in hope and there is the slimmest of chances. Under 9/10 other PL managers it's a waste of time.

I am not sure I agree. Steel replaced him for a large amount of games last year, and RDZ was very vocal in saying how much he preferred him. Even when Steele has bad games I.e Everton at home, Sanchez doesn’t get a chance and when Sanchez did get a chance and played well v Man U, it didn’t get him a run in the team.

If you are a player, you need to see you have a chance at earning first team football, when you get shown that performance etc doesn’t matter and the manager doesn’t want to play you, you are always going to leave.
I seem to remember that it was about the time of the Everton game that Sanchez stopped even being in the squad. Probably decided that if he wasn’t going to be reselected as No 1 after that then he never would be.

the way City were parked around our 18 yard area that half reminded of our first home game against them when they were queuing up to take shots at goal. despite being 2 down i think our defence is better than the one that joined the league but boy i'd take duffy knocking and bashing into their front 3 at the moment rather than Igor/Dos Santos/him.. and i still struggle to understand why MIlner is being picked ahead of Veltman...
