Beglin made a relatively astute point. Mac does looks suited to playing in midfield. He is very competitive. Which he had a reputation for when he joined.

Can't beleive that free kick. Cross it there not that pass McCalister. Anyway if we want a point we need to score very late. City will just score afterwards.

So can we strike off the cliche threads and save NSC the effort?
Are they playing for Potter? Yes
Were Potter's tactics right? Yes
Was team selection acceptable? Yes
Were the substitutions broadly good? Yes
Suspect it's individual players that cause the thread count tonight, rightly or wrongly. Admittedly Proppers loss of posession is my bug bear tonight.

I take it as a positive.. it means he wants him to be fresh for Leeds. Keep the faith.

Yes,I'm not saying it's the wrong descision to take him off.its just disappointing in this game because he looks quality and a goal against city would be marvellous for the SA fans as well as us,but it is probably the right thing to do with Leeds so close.

If you look at the determination on Mac’s face when he was defending the indirect free kick you can see he plays with a lot of intent. Very impressed tonight.

Good list. Even Pröpper was much better second half

Something to remember:

We score a lot of late goals under Potter. As long as this is 1-0 magic can still happen.

We've started lookong backwards now every time we have the ball. You can just see the belief just disappeared with that f**ked up free kick. This is usually when we throw the towell in an Webster or Burn make their customary defensive mistake.

The only question that ever counts is "did we win?"

So often we take a touch instead of releasing a player. Has to be the possession philosophy to blame for that.

Whatever happens from here, we’ve made a decent effort here. Worked our arses off.

Just shows that you cannot give a side of this quality even a yard.

Tau looked good, but an inauguration of 90 minutes in the Premier League, on a big pitch, with another game just days away, does seem too much. Fit and ready for the weekend. Bingo.
