So how do you change it then?
Send them off it will change it. Years ago the referee would be onto the players immediately. It’s utter rubbish to say they can’t do it. They need to grow a pair of balls.

Well someone suggested for throws that if not taken quickly enough (they could agree a time) then the throw goes the other way.

I also wonder if the FA could do something retrospectively I.e if total stoppages for a team in a game go over a certain limit then they could be warned, then increasing punishment from there (fines, even points deduction if they really don’t stop after many many warnings).

One of Arsenal’s time wasting tactics was taking ages celebrating goals, you again could agree a limit on celebrations and then just kick off again whether they are ready or not.

Most of these need changes in the laws but actually what is more important, is that fans and ESPECIALLY commentators and pundits, need to get onside with this stuff. Most of the hardline stuff refs try at the start of the year falls by the wayside because of the general media, fans and teams crying about it and that influencing everyone else.

Until everyone actually wants to see proper change, not just changes for others but not for us, then nothing will change.
All that you post ARE in the laws just not enforced. Over celebrating is bookable , time wasting of any kind is bookable it is there in the laws of the game. Refs are weak and useless. The likes of David Ellery wouldn’t have put up with it.

The conversation was about punishment measures OTHER than bookings.

As said before, you can’t expect refs to be booking players doing all that as there would be hardly any players left on the pitch, and the refs would be criticised heavily for showing so many yellow cards. As the conversation was saying, we need options other than refs just showing yellow cards.

No it won’t. They’ll start and then the outcry over the player being sent off will mean it rolls back to what it is. We saw EXACTLY this happen this year when Rice got sent off against us for time wasting and the outrage and criticism went on for ages.

You fail to reason that it will stop the excessive time wasting within a game week. Bringing in the 30 second off the pitch post treatment has meant Villa have had to change their complete game plan. Suddenly it’s the keepers going down.

I’ll add he got booked not sent off. It was though his second booking, too many pundits and fans are too f***ing thick to realise

No you fail to realise that is only your assumption. As you say, they find new ways around it, and the pressure on the refs means it won’t last, we’ve seen that over a number of seasons now.

I’ve been watching football live for over 50 years it is simply the refs have stopped managing the game. Never happened like this before. It’s in the laws of the game plain and simple. If you get Lego head or greasy from Villa on tv moaning so f***ing what. The likes of Liverpool won’t be moaning. What Arsenal did last night should be called out for what it is. Time wasting from the 20 th minute ffs. Even their own fans are embarrassed about it.

So again weak weak from the ref at the Fulham game. He missed the penalty and rightly VAR got involved. Fulham players and manager acted like animals. Should have seen reds for abuse. Fulham manager is an absolute cock

If you don’t want opposition teams time wasting, don’t let them take the lead

I trust those here are furious when we time waste at the end of games we’re winning?

Yes, I find it annoying whoever does it. If you're that good a footballer (this is the PL no?), why the need?

Trust you're right ask anyone who knows me at football I hate fake injuries, play acting all that crap. Had many a heated conversation with those around me when our players do it, Pedro yet again rolling about irritates the f*** out of me.

I was surprised that Wilson didn’t get at least a yellow - you could see him screaming at the ref that he was a ‘f***ing cheat’ at least twice.

We are mere amateurs at it, even with Pedro et al. Witness the Wolves game (and Leicester to a degree). If we had been Arsenal standard, we'd have wasted five minutes of the added time, and would have won both games.
