Bad enough seeing players gob but just seen a close up of lennon doing it. Disgusting habit.

Absolutely disgusting, still don't understand how they are so hot on players with a tiny bit of blood on their shirts yet do nothing to stop them spitting and gobbing all over the pitch.

I agree, although Poyet was/is just as bad. Whenever Albion were being televised under his leadership, he was hocking like the proverbial llama. Very unpleasant.

We used to have this guy at school who hocked into a petri dish during a science lesson, our teacher was not amused next day when the gel had turned into something resembling an alien explosion.
That put me off people spitting etc: for life, dirty habit.

It's crept into cricket lately aswell, really no need for it.

Players used to use the excuse that they salivated a lot because of the running they had to do, and therefore had to spit, and honk their noses out to "clear the airways". I haven't heard any excuses - yet- for why bysitters need to "clear their airways" but no doubt they will soon appear.

An unnecessary habit all round. Perhaps a reason for introducing a green card ?
