I think GP will continue to play the same way as we did against them, Liverpool and City at the end of last season. All we have to do is cut out the cock ups from the press and we will give them a game. I am 100% against the posters who suggest we should go Hughtonball against the top teams. Toe to toe with the right players (we’ll soon find out if we have them now) and we’ll scare the bejesus out of them

We quite possibly won’t win many of the games like this but I do think we will start to win some without having to bore the arses off every one if we lose.

I am going for a close game that could go either way

Would be good to take the lead against them , as going 1-0 down seems to knock the stuffing out of us in these kind of games (but we did comeback against Chelsea :albion2:).

They are very beatable and of all the big 6 they are the one you’d want to play at present - then again thought the same against Chelsea - may need to go glass half empty mode.....

Whatever happens I want to see Lamptey getting a red card for head butting Pogba in the Balls.

I don’t recall having a better team to take them on. I am cautiously optimistic. I am confident of a good performance, whatever the result.

Given that Potter has thrown away the keys to the bus [that CH handed in on the way out the door] - we won't be parking that anytime soon.

Has he ? Did you go that last game (with fans) at Molineux for example ?
1 shot on target, no corners.
He knows how to draw ugly too.

I'm not sure why, bit tomorrow's game is the first one I am REALLY missing not being there. Last season was weird, I'm not sure why I didn't get upset about Chelsea, but tomorrow, I should be on that bus, a pint in the North stand Concourse and up to cheer on the lads :albion2:

needed the point and not his squad ?

Maybe - who knows why ? But he can be pragmatic when needed and has various tactics in his locker including being Hughton esque from time to time.
Any why not . He's a good coach too.

I'm very nervous about tomorrow. A lot of neutrals seem to be expecting us to get a result and that never seems to bode well. United can't be worse than they were last week. If things go their way, that front three are relentless. This United are flat track bullies and could hammer virtually anyone in the league if they are allowed to play without pressure being put on their weaknesses. We need to get at their defence early, but they will be geared up to do the same thing to us.

We were much too meek in the last game against them and we will miss Bissouma in our attempts to change this. After the media attention following the Newcastle game, they will have to have been thinking about how to combat the threat of TL. We need to have other ways to hurt them and need Solly to be on top form on the left. We also cannot put a foot wrong in possession in front of our goal.

Unless we're perfect, we could end up in big trouble. Oddschecker shows that you can get 30/1 on us getting tonked 4-0, but only 20/1 on Liverpool doing the same thing to Arsenal. I'm not saying that this will be the score, but I know which of those scenarios seems more likely to me.

If we play like we did against Chelsea we have a chance . Just maybe don’t overplay at the back and mix up the goal kicks . Yes they are quick upfront but they aren’t any better then Chelsea as a team and with a bit more luck we could have easily got a draw .
