Man Utd Tickets...

I hope Dick Knight doesn't see this...

Manchester United have defended a new policy which forces season-ticket holders to buy tickets for cup matches.

Fans have criticised the automatic cup ticket scheme, which is compulsory for season-ticket renewals this season.

Under the scheme, fans are issued and billed for cup-match tickets whether they want them or not.

Seems a little odd...

That will go down well. Season ticket holders having to buy tickets they dont want, non season ticket holders not being able to get tickets (and there's a fair few of them!).

Ah well, thankfully we don't have Americans in charge, and have got our ticketing policy sorted......

Is that just for home games??

If so then i can see the logic in it as say united get a replay at home, that normally only leaves about 11 days to get the tickets out and with the ground size will be abit of a hassell as STH are more than likely to go to the cup games

That might be the case with Albion...but there are shitloads of Old Trafford season ticket holders - i would think there's a fair few of them who don't want to go and watch Scunthorpe in the third round of the Carling Cup.....wheras of the billions of non STH, i bet there are LOADS who would love the chance!

Seems odd as they aren't exactly struggling ticket sale wise.

I went to old trafford last year for one of there cup games, as to tick the ground off and i also promised a friend who supports them that i would go with them.
I found that getting tickets for cup games were really really easy, as all the league games tickets that have been put on sale were sold out.
Also nearer to the game i went to i noticed tickets went on ticketmaster, so they most struggle to sale out for cup games and it was against Aston Villa so it was not as if it was a lower league side
