Would you turn down a chance of working for Man Untd?

I'm a football fan, so yes. If I had the chance to work for the club I love it would be very hard to turn my head, unless we are talking a life-changing increase in salary.

That said I fully understand why anyone unattached to the albion, other than in a working sense, would take opportunities elsewhere if it was right for them.

You are talking about a club that is giant in the world of football. So you would turn down that financial security and prestige because you are a morally superior human being.

Weird post. Would love to work/play for the albion can't see why I'd want to go anywhere else.

If you are lucky as a footballer you get a 10-15 year playing career. Not many footballers earn top bank after finishing playing. So you have to make a decent wedge while you can. That would involve going to a club where you earn more cash, play a higher standard of football and hopefully get European football.

For example: should have Adam Virgo turned down his move to Celtic because of his love for the Albion.

Loyalty is a characteristic rarely found in football today.

We're talking about a football scout, not a footballer... in line with the topic .

Strange response. You're springing onto a very hypothetical question; as a professional scout and an albion fan, would I jump at the chance to work for man utd?

Of course it's very hard to answer categorically, as if they added an extra zero onto my salary of course I would do it. However, pay for scouts does not fluctuate that massively between clubs and divisions, at least when compared to players/managers etc.

If I was good at my job, and I felt like I was helping my club then I could easily see myself turning a blind eye to an increase in salary up until a certain point. I most certainly wouldn't spunk one out at the 'prestige' of working for what I consider a conglomerate shithouse of a club.

This is a great article I remember reading from the BBC:

http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/24653124

It's a pittance really. Just a few extra quid. But I imagine the bigger ones get paid a lot more.

Great article thanks

Although i find it hard to believe that Zaha plays 'the same as he did on the street'. I've seen south Londons streets and you wouldn't throw yourself on most of them for love nor money
