In today's Telegraph there is an article on rooney's transfer to manure in which Ferguson is quoted as saying:
"Wayne came up against our youth team four years ago and I got the call from my staff, saying: `We have seen a player who we had better do something about'. We showed an interest but he didn't want to leave Everton. "
By my maths that would have made Rooney 14 when he was approached. Isn't that against FA regulations?
