If that happened in this country the cameras would show everything else but, the portugese show slow motion replays

It was a fine moment. He ran onto the pitch clasping a Barcelona flag, then chucked it in Figo's face. Ok, not as powerful a moment as the Barca fan who threw the severed head of a pig at Figo following his switch to Real Madrid, but marvellous scenes nonetheless.

Why did it take so long to get him off the pitch.

Didn't two fans run on a pitch and chain themselves to the goal at a Barca v Real game and delay the KO a few years ago ?

Exactly what I said to my mate. Unbelievable coverage for the fella - once the dust has settled over his arrest etc, he's going to have some prime footage to look back on of him being a complete prick to a worldwide audience of millions for the rest of his life. He might even get his own chat show.

On balance, although its a bit "fuddy duddy", I think the British broadcasters have got it about right. Don't bother showing these sad, mutated, deluded publicity-seeking social inadequates. Let them go on Big Brother instead, so the rest of us can watch our sporting events without their pathetic antics interrupting things.

And that goes for streakers too (unless they are attractive young females).

i could not disagree more.

it was brilliant, made all the more brilliant by the portuguese giving us some fantastic slow motion replays of it.

OK, it was mildly amusing tonight.
But if Sky Sports gave the sort of coverage the Portugese broadcasters gave that bloke tonight, then hardly a match would go by without some twat charging onto the pitch to grab his or her moment in the limelight, so he could set his video and record his slow-mo moments forever. Worth a night in the cells and a fine ? To them, probably.

We'd soon be getting well and truley pissed off at the sight of them. I don't buy a match ticket, or pay a subscription, to watch some self-serving, attention-seeking retard pushing his own agenda in the middle of a football match. What if you were at the cinema watching a film, and right in the middle of it, someone jumped up and started running around in front of the screen telling you animal testing should be banned, or something. Would that be "brilliant" as well ?

yeah, you are right, if i saw it happen every week i would get bored of it............. but i don't so i thought it was really funny.

if i was at a cinema watching a film, someone doing what you said would not be 'brilliant' because it would only be seen by those of us in the cinema, the bloke tonight disrupted an event the whole of europe was watching. i found it very funny. sorry.

OK.
But you must write:

"I must not find pitch-invading twats at sporting events amusing"

twenty times, and then go home and think about what you have done. ;)
