Well proof of that has been asked for by LC, and not received.

Filed under "Nonsense" until it comes up i'm afraid..

And just for the record, i've googled it, and found nothing either - either it didn't happen, or Ken's wielded his amazing powers yet again, and made it disappear..

Oddly, this campaign against him (led by Standard and Mail) actually makes me back him even more, and consciously not consume or buy any of their products..
As mentioned elsewhere, it's takes something to piss all this people off - is it because his headstrong views actually work, and we love failures ?

I Know It's Diffcult To Find On The Web. I Couldn't Find Anything Until I Had The Inspiration To Go To Google And Typed Into The Search Engine: Ken Livingstone Wife Beating

Dunno Why I Thought Of That. Call It Inspiration. Anyhow. They've Only Got A Few Articles On It. 80,000 Or So.

Anyhow, You've Convinced Me. The Whole World Loves An Anti-Semitic Drunk Wife-Beater After All. As Long As The Buses Are Running.

No, you won't find it on Google. But it's a story known to an awful lot of political journalists who, quite rightly, don't feel the need to investigate it too much. Right - don't want to miss a too much of Ken's last two days in power, so I'm off to bed. As a matter of interest, how would you feel if George W. Bush was allowed to stand for a third term?

Dear London Calling,
For your information, the Transport for London board is appointed by the mayor and the mayor chairs the board.
You're quite entitled to get cross - but do get your basic facts right.

Drear Clapham OM,

1. I apologise for unnecessary swearing at you.

2. Just to clarify here, you refered to the Chair of Travel Watch London.

I will quote from their site

"About London TravelWatch
London TravelWatch is the official watchdog organisation representing the interests of transport users in and around the capital. Officially known as London Transport Users Committee, we were established in July 2000.

London TravelWatch is independent of the transport operators. We are sponsored and funded by the London Assembly, which is part of the Greater London Authority. The Assembly also appoints the members of London TravelWatch, who are supported by professional staff who carry out much of the day-to-day work. "

The LOndon Assembly is presently Tory Dominated. So I was not wrong, in fact very much correct.

Transport for London, is a completely different organisation, it is one of the Mayor agencies and delivers London Transport.

Yes the Mayor appoints people to that Board, nearly all, I would say are their by right and would stay, under any Mayor.

If the American people elected him, I would have to accept their mandate.

Likewise, I see no problem with Ken being elected again. In fact I would have to accept Boris, I work for one of the Mayor's agencies and would serve apolitically to any Mayor.

As it happens Ken would not be my prefered Mayor, but he is the nearest thing to being able to be elected and implement, what I want London to stand for and deliver.

That is bizarre....they are slaying Ken for being a Socialist but then having a go at you for supporting him and collecting City Money...

That sounds like a contradiction in terms to me...

I am definitely not slaying him for being a socialist. It is the one thing about him I like.

Dandyman

In London village.
He's a corrupt, drunken, woman beating anti-semite, how on earth can he be better than any of the alternatives simply by virtue of being left wing. Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas.

Care to provide a scrap of evidence that he is corrupt , an anti-semite or a that he has ever beaten up a woman ?

Evidence means verifable proof by the way not malicous lies spun by the gutter press.

Unfortunately, Dandy, these stories have been repeated constantly by the Mail, Standard, that they are now in terms of public conciousness seen as fact/ true.

Personnally I am unnerved by the influence of the media in this election, combined with the fact that only the Conservatives have treated it seriously, and put forward an appropriate budget to finance the electioneering.

As I'm sure you're aware, a journalist from the Association Press (The Standard), badgered and harassed Ken to the extent that KL compared him to a Nazi security guard. i.e. "only doing his job". And he was damn f***ing right - the journalist was acting like a complete tosser, and had the front to insist that KL took back that comment because he was Jewish. Why the f*** should he have done that?

Anyway the Mail and Standard went on yet another anti-KL campaign by accusing him of being an anti-semite. Yes, the newspaper that supported HITLER in WW2 was accusing an elected mayor of being an anti-semite. You really couldn't make it up. Gutter press twats.
