Thought JPVH’s distribution was patchy tonight…liked to launch the ball too much for my liking.

Bart made some key saves to keep us in the game, thought he was excellent so he gets my vote.
Webster was by far our best defender and what a player Gomez is, lovely through balls. One to watch for sure.

Webster for me - superb throughout.

With Georgino and Bart close behind.

Gomez was absolutely terrific first half, but tired really badly, and Hurzeler was lucky to get away with leaving the subs as late as he did.

I'm astonished at the mentions for JPVH - he was all over the place (and not in the positive sense).

Not for man of the match consideration, but a special shout out for Mats Weiffer who came on and showed he was brave enough to carry on passing in tight areas when we were clinging to a one goal lead.
After his awful experience against Wolves most players would be psychologically scarred and would be lumping the ball into Row Z.

I think Mat is going to be another strong player working hard in our engine room of midfield players.

Baleba, Gomez, Hinshelwood, Ayari, Weiffer, O'Riley are all very fine players with masses of potential.
