I agree and disagree about the progress, I’m not sure what our style is. When I heard Hurzeler’s second in command saying he prefers to win games as we did at Newcastle with a smash and grab and spend the rest of the game defending it’s seems far away from the DeZerbi patterns of play over loading in forward areas to get attacking players one on one with defenders.
Mitoma seems to narrow under FH and not as effecting games as he did. We’ve also have been conceding to many goals which is fine if we are scoring four.
Ten games in RDZ was smashing it ten games in this season and we have no idea what to expect.
Not a rant really more of a footballing observation before I get accused of hating on the manager.

RDZs record after 10 league games was 3 wins, 1 draw and 6 defeats. We got 10 points from those games and had a negative goal difference (in fact in those first 10 games RDZs side conceded 5 more goals than we have so far this season) . Compare that to Huzeler's record and there is no way you can claim that RDZ was smashing it after 10 games.

We didn't really find our feet under RDZ until the turn of 2023. We only lost 6 of the 22 league games played from New Years Day until the end of the season.

Can’t believe you’re expecting your well presented facts to trump distorted memories.

That’s just not the way NSC works!

Have we got any of our grown-ups back, i.e. Dunk, Webster or Milner? it would be handy to have Jao Pedro available too...
There speaks somebody who wasn't at the Etihad to watch Milner go up against Doku last season

The first eleven that they started against Bournemouth is valued at about £600 million.
That's only half a Chelsea though, so using that logic, it will be 2-1 to City, with Foden in the Cole Palmer role and Ederson playing the part of Robert Sanchez.

That team that got us promoted to the Premier is one of favourites ever

Stockdale,
Bruno, Dunk, Duffy, Bong,
Knockaert, Stephens, Kayal, March,
Murray, Hemed

Wonderful team, but I really don't think any of them would make the first team squad today, not even Murray and Bruno. And thank god Dunk and March got found out when they reached their long predicted level

I'm so exited :albion: :

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Of course they're better than us, but for the first time in years (possibly ever), they really aren't THAT much better than us :albion2:

Playing the best teams in the world, with a reasonable chance of getting something out of it ? I've only waited 55 years for this
Well that’s just it isn’t it, they’ve not been getting results like the best team in the world recently.

An on form Citeh will always be a cut above the rest imo. Let‘s hope they don’t find it tomorrow and we can take something from the game

- we really need the points if we don’t want to find ourselves in the bottom half of the table by next week - or you know what will happen then, the bedwetters will run out of sheets 😉

Whenever I saw Stephen’s and Kayal as the starting CM’s I always thought we’d win

Gave us no chance when I heard that we had to go to Hillsborough without either of them. What chance a first win there with Sidwell and Norwood in centre midfield?

Sussex but not by the sea
I’d play this team, based on Dunk not making it.

Bart
Ferdi JPvH Igor Pervis
Hinch Baleba Ayari Mitoma
Rutter
Welbz

Solid and full of running; run their midfield ragged. Can be 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 or 4-4-1-1 depending on how it’s going.

Then Adringa, Pedro, Wieffer, Ferguson, Ensico, Gruda or Veltman to come on from 60 onwards.
