It’s obvious

british ambassador to QATAR is invited to see the emir….” You will drop these charges as it makes us look like crooks or we phone Putin and start supplying Russia with oil and military bases in our country…and you can then Go and f*** yourselves ….”

british ambassador drops pants and bends over!

it’s how the world works

Why does it damage the bank though?

With all due respect, Man City aren’t THAT big.
In the sense that IF they were to properly punish City for past discretions, and strip them of 4 previous title wins - that absolutely damages the PL 'brand'.

Agreed. If they are proved to have cheated their way to these trophies then they and their players should be stripped of all their trophies. The litigation will go on beyond my days,

Agree.

Look at the damage done to the Tour de France by Lance Armstrong. That said, I think the TdF has eventually emerged stronger for it. But it has taken time and organizations like the PL think short term when it comes to ££££

wouldn’t happen in Scotland

Not sure whether you're being sincere or not (since Rangers were relegated), but they made up knew rules to pretend that today's Rangers is the same as the previous Rangers (it isn't).

Does it?

Does reinforcing the rules and ensuring the league’s integrity really ruin the brand more than the continued acceptance of financial doping from the league’s most recently successful club?

That's embarrassing for the British ambassador.

Considering the club is owned by the UAE and not Qatar.

They can enforce rules, and serve punishments as they see fit though - there is no set tariff. If found guilty I'm quite sure that the punishments will be financial and points deductions / relegation will be imposed on current and future seasons.

Which is better all round, in my opinion. there's no point trying to re-write record books. You could declare Liverpool winners of a title a couple of seasons back but it is pointless - they DIDN'T win it. Their fans didn't celebrate on the last day, etc. An additional title on their wikipedia entry is basically all it would amount to.

Whereas City's fans DID experience those emotions (as did Portsmouth's at Wembley, etc). They WON - telling them years later that they actually didn't amounts to nothing.

To punish them in such a way that they are hamstrung from winning say the NEXT four titles, is an ACTUAL punishment.

I don’t disagree with any of this. I just don’t see why both things can’t happen at once. The Wikipedia point is neither here nor there. They cheated to win the titles they won (seemingly) and should have them rescinded whilst also not being in a position to win forthcoming ones.

Very interesting. It seems that out of the 115 charges, only 5 to 12 were the actual loss hiding actions where as the other 100 or so are around the cover-up. For that reason, it has to be League 2 for them….at best.
Are the Football League legally obliged to take them if they're thrown out of the Premier League?
