One of the most original, brilliant, bonkers songs and performances ever - I still remember the shock and awe of seeing this on Top of the Pops.

I assumed they were a one-hit wonder novelty act, but they are - now in their 70s - still going strong; their 2017 album Hippopotamus is as good and original as any of their mid-1970s albums, with brilliant and catchy melodies and quirky lyrics; somehow fresh and original, but still recognisably Sparks

Edgar Wright, of Shaun of the Dead fame, made a documentary about them this year. I haven't seen it but hear it's worth a watch.

There was a good interview with them in the Guardian last month - https://www.theguardian.com/music/2...being-boring-sparks-still-flying-in-their-70s

I still think Party Fears Two is one of the worst things I ever heard in my life

Sorry, but I LOVE that track. Iconic sound of my childhood.

I always liked Rush, but Geddy's 'squawk' was something of an acquired taste!

Definitely. Sort of band that ticked boxes for me but could never get my head around the vocals. Not high pitched but similarly don't like the shouty style of Brian Johnson in AC/DC. Dio and Dickinson for me :clap2:
