And Karen Gillan played a soothsayer in that same episode, yet went on to be a companion for years. It all seems to revolve around Pompeii......

Didn't Donna convince the doctor to save someone who shouldn't have been saved? Or was it suggested that they were always saved?

I would love for it to some how all link up, but I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Here's the first official shot of the new Doctor in his costume:

Brilliant. Hint of Pertwee. As he says, "No frills, no scarf, no messing. Just 100% Rebel Time Lord"
He's going to be great.

I dunno, looks a little too similar to Matt Smith's more recent attire for me.

He's going to be great.

I am hoping he will be a little bit Pertwee with a little bit of Hartnell thrown in!

Thanks Greens :(
Seeing the George Cole thread reminded me that a fresh faced Peter Capaldi appeared recently in an episode of Minder, which ITV4 seem to have on permanent rotation :)

I'm not sure if he is right for the role, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for a few episodes and see how he beds in. It's going to be odd now that I have him in my mind as the evil Cardinal Richeliu.

The picture I saw reminded me of 1994 and Tony Di Bart and the Real Thing

I hope he work out well but think they will lose a fair few audience members. Most of my nieces and nephews have said "Ewww, He's too old". I think they need an older Doctor though.

I have always wanted to see Dylan Moran in the role.

I just don't think I'm going to be able to disassociate him from the wondrous Malcolm Tucker.

Same as Steve Coogan. If he's not doing Partridge, then I don't wanna know.
