A former colleague of mine died earlier today, someone as unlike Malcolm McLaren as you'd be likely to meet but I think he'd have been amused at the coincidence. Nearly the same age too.
Nobody got him on the what famous person will die soon thread... anyway, didnt do much for me, but I know he changed things a lot... so respect and rip...
RIP. in the late seventies my dad organised a celebrity football match for all the local kids, Malcom Mclaren was the only "celebrity" to stay behind at the end and hung out with the kids for a good couple of hours, a proper laugh and a total gentleman.
I've always been very fond of the guy meself. One of the real great English eccentrics & modern cultural innovators, imo. Always good value in the entertainment stakes (of course); gloriously rebelious in his pomp; & nicely dodgy to boot! Maybe Mr Lydon can finally put his long-standing feud with the recently-deceased to bed now? Stranger things have happened.
