Thats true THPP, but there is also the structure, the moneyball sytem and having to play second fiddle to others like Winstanley and Ashworth. Im not defending Potter last night as there are no excuses for such a bizzarre selection with no recognised striker starting a winnable game at home........ But he is also in a structural straight jacket.
Oh for a rafa bentitez type who knows what he is doing and gets to chose his own players,, and not some random selection of misfits and garbage from secondary leagues.

Andone over Ali J, Connolly and Maupay most often. Him and Izzy will be a big bonus.
no idea if true or where info comes from, but my footie app suggests Izzy early Jan 21 and Flozza as March 21??

Personally thought both Propper and Bernardo played well lastnight considering they have hardly played. Just sets alarm bells ringing just to plop them in. It was a no win for either in my opinion
I think the groundstaff set up the goalposts and corner flags.

Might be wrong here, but didn't Potter's gravy train entourage come complete with his own personal recruitment guy? Can never have too many recruitment guys all fighting their own personal turf wars eh? That whole top-heavy recruitment structure needs a metaphorical axe taking to it IMHO. WAY too many people leeching off the club while contributing little or nothing to the core activity ie. winning football matches

He did come with his fella from Ostersunds, not sure of his role though tbh....... imagine its secondary to Winstanley and Ashworth? Again there is no proof of this I think it was merely speculation, but when we were liked with that Turkish keeper who looked awesome, Urghan Kakir, it was suggested that was Potters fella?? he never came and Ryan stayed until Sanchez took the jersey.
Its hard to know what goes on, but you'd imagine that Ashworth who has been out of the FA a good few years will soon be coming to an end of the clutch of kids, like Lamptey he once knew......As they all grow up and become early/mid 20's.....Winstanley has overseen to some degree some truly disastrous signings. I'm surprised he still has a job tbh.
If we are to stick with Potter I'd be glad if it were his man that became the primary tool for him.
With that said, that doesnt excuse the terrible and puzzling selection yesterday, nor the seeming deficiencies in coaching in some areas.
Nathan Jones?? a manager with fight, passion and love for the club...... would he do any worse?

I'd hoped we'd never see Propper and Gross on the pitch together again, too slow the pair of them (like you I thought Propper did have some good parts but shits himself in front of goal and offloads responsibility.
As for Gross he's a ****in duracel bunny , just runs (well trots) around in circles, never tackles, gives the ball away and apparently is good in dead ball situations but last night failed every time to beat the first man. He slows down the play too much and loses his man when attempting to defend - apart from that he's brilliant !!
FFS Potter why change so many players, Arsenal were there for the taking and we were ineffective. At this rate the Championship beckons.
If it was rotation, seems odd to have left out both Maupay & Welbeck. Maupay will have been higher on confidence after his West Ham goal, and can hardly be knackered - he's missed a few games. Welbeck is more understandable - but he could have had half a game surely? If he couldn't, then he shouldn't have been on the bench at all. And if neither Maupay nor Welbeck are fully match fit, then why not start Zeqiri? All a bit of a puzzle to be honest.
Welbeck was injured and on the bench and available only if we really needed to risk it apparently.

Did you watch Zeqiri? Only a cameo I know but he needs to develop more before being brought in else he's doomed to fail. Positionally weak and seemed naive from what I saw. Agreed AJ isnt the answer but Zeqiri isnt either. I'd rather Andone or a new signing

Maybe he was just saving his first 11 for the easier games coming up : Wolves, Man City, Leeds, Fulham, Tottenham, & Liverpool. Now it makes sense.
