4 of us going.

Pub/parking advice now please.

Parking, big car park for away fans right next to the stadium away end. I would check if this is still used this season.
Went to the away fixture on the last away match of the season, about 4 years back, and away fans cars and coaches parked there.
Not sure about pubs but there was a leisure centre up the hill above the car park, there was a bar in there.
The away end also had a decent concourse that sold beer and decent pies ( and chips )

I wonder how many people will look at this and say..."I can't be arsed, its too far" then moan like hell when they don't get a Norwich or Villa ticket?

How many have we sold for this? I'm hopin we have a late surge of interest. Never quite understand how we get 7k or whatever to MK plastic club soccer ball dons where there's no good pubs and transport is shite and yet we can't get 3k plus to a proper old northern club like Barnsley with good pubs and easy transport? Weird.

Anyway see you there or at one of the glory fixtures like Naarwich!

Erm distance could be one....Hence cost ...ticket price double/treble? ... erm...not everyone goes to the pub (I know it's shocking)

If you plan to go ahead of time there is very little difference in cost between London visits and oop North, especially if you use split ticketing. Just saying.

Yed I'm sure there are ways around things....but for those bods that went to MK Dons it was actually quite simple...lot of families too

Distance - yeah but it doesn't take much time with good transport links. Some clubs further away are quicker and easier to get to due to good road or rail network.
Cost - Advanced rail tickets cheap. Seagulls travel coaches cheap. 4 in a car cheap.
Tickets - £25 so we're talking £12 more.
Pub - don't be ridiculous, of course everyone goes to the pub.

If you don't want to go fine, but let's not pretend it's really hard/expensive to do compared to more local games.

Go on grab a couple of tickets and I'll buy you a pint - in a pub we ALWAYS go to!!

I was kinda of replying because you said you couldn't quite understand...so just merely suggesting a few reasons why :)

...and I don't recall saying I wasn't going to this one..although I don't go to many away...time, cost..loss of work etc...and I'll admit to not often visiting the pub..never felt the need in all my time of going to football ...plus I normally drive.
..but good on you for going to away games ..respect

...plus see below

Yep fair enough - I do get it that it's not cheap and by the way despite my username I don't go to every away game by any stretch..(although I admire those that do!)

I look forward to having a sing song with you there - and I'll buy you the soft drink of your choice..... in the pub!

Ladbrokes sent me a casino cashback offer. I had a go (risk free) and said to myself that if I could make enough money to keep the cost of a full trip to Barnsley (including ticket) down to £50 I'd allow myself to go. I needed to make £40 profit. Blow me down, I only did it. First trip to Oakwell now booked for next weekend. #LuckyNight Let's hope it doesn't snow. Seagulls !

This'll be my first match of the season, only an hour and 40minutes away. As I've mentioned before on another thread my wife's going through treatment for breast cancer at the moment so have not wanted to leave her for any length of time as she's been really having a rough time of it, so this is my first opportunity to get to a game this year. Really looking forward to it.

Add three more. Just booked. Isn't the fee annoying? £1 per ticket, but as all going in same envelope shouldn't it be £1 per booking?

Football ground guide says Dove Inn as best away pub
Any other recommendations?
