I got sent the same thing by some friends on Sunday saying "tomorrow at 9am" they'd do the same thing

Just seen similar on facebook. The army were going to take to the streets person posting it had been told separately by friends who are a soldier and a police officer and that this lock down and martial law would begin on thursday and nobody would be allowed to leave their homes . Amongst the replies people claiming they'd seen 30 tanks driving into central london overnight, surprisingly the 2 or 3 people posting that had failed to get photographic evidence

Pity the uk/europe/the/u.s/everywhere else despite knowing 'they let all those shit infested bacterial rampant markets operate' couldn't figure out the need for a plan.

I'm not sure what you mean. We're in this mess because the Chinese allow these markets to operate seemingly without any level of hygienic control, and trade produce that is seemingly infected up to the eyeballs

It's 2020 they shouldn't need to have a plan to deal with epidemics that are caused by this atrocious trading, and if they did the first thing they should be doing is shutting down totally

The rest of the world are not blameless in what I consider was a complacent reaction but the root cause of this is firmly at the feet of the Chinese

I can see them passing laws to make the armed forces available but claims that they are ready to basically place the whole country under house arrest from tomorrow is irresponsible scare mongering and unfortunately people buy into it and it causes the panic buying to get worse

Lockdown not possible to enforce in the UK, we have a tiny overstretched Army and unlike a lot of the EU countries who seem to have larger police numbers along with dedicated paramilitary federal police we have nothing of the sort. Plus in the EU the police are happy to wade in in full riot gear and waving batons at the tip of a hat, less so over here.

France for instance has around 220,000 police officers and Germany 315,000 compared to the UKs 122,000 albeit a huge number of all of those figures will not necessarily be deployable uniformed officers.

Well, you could put it a little more like that for a start rather than:

Which to me came across as sneering, dismissive and stereotyping. Particularly when the original comment was about Asia in general and not China specifically.

You're right, nations shouldn't have to have a plan for pandemics caused by these horrible markets. They should have a plan for a pandemic though. Any kind of pandemic. Asia, it appears, does. The rest of the world,it appears, doesn't.

Maybe the world should learn from that and China can learn from the rest of the world concerning the state of its markets.

Arresting them won't work, Brighton for instance has sum total of 36 police cells available and Sussex as a whole around 150 or less so mass arrest won't be possible
