One of the things that pisses me off about this situation is that the markets are allowed to tumble. Surely, in these desperate times, governments should suspend the markets. Pension funds, Isa's etc are all taking a massive hit and I suspect there will be some hedge fund managers who will making a killing as the rest of society struggles.

Pension funds will recover if and when the market recovers. If a stock doesn’t recover then it’s because the fundamental value of a share has plummeted and there’s nothing a government can do about that.

The chef medic and scientist themselves confirmed that the estimate is 5000-10000, and that probably doubles every 24-48 hours.

I’ve been saying for over a week now that the real number of cases in this country is certainly in the hundreds of thousands and quite possibly the millions.

Because most people have only mild symptoms we will never know they’ve got it. But famous people tend to work in environments with medical facilities more easily to hand so no stone will be left unturned. That’s why footballers, MPs, millionaires, F1 personnel etc are already diagnosed. Any professional footballer turning up for work with a slight cough or a sniffle this week will be tested, whereas you or I wouldn’t be.

Yesterday the PM, informed by his said 5,000 to 10,000 likely have it, informed by his experts, chief medical officer etc.

Why you think up to 200 times+ more people have it?

The government have acted on their scientists advice. Only time will tell whether the tactic will work. No one really knows. Fair play for Boris to not follow the herd.

The second wave is nailed on when they ease the lockdown imo, this virus is not going to go away. Pretty well everyone is likely to be infected eventually aren’t they?
