This. Even if you’re allowed to mix, doesn’t mean you have to. Massive spike and full lockdown mid January beckons as the NHS is swamped. IMO, obviously.

Daughter’s hospital was down to half a Covid ward a few weeks ago from three full ones at the peak. They’re now about to reopen the third as two are close to overflowing.

Yet first place in Sussex for the vaccine is one of the lower areas in Uckfield.

I don't need a scruffy haired politician or a directive to understand that I'm able to make a decision based on my circumstance as what I want to do over Christmas.

Looking at the very sad numbers of deaths reported today has me thinking.

232 reported by NHS uk but the bbc report 506 ?. Are we saying that 250 odd people were so ill of the virus but died at home and did not go to the hospital? I just don’t get that if I am honest even a care home that had someone that I’ll would surly send them to hospital would they not.

sounds about right. carehomes dont send people ill and almost certain to die off to hospital, when they can make their last hours comfortable where they are.

There’s a difference between a care home and a nursing home, the latter having qualified medical staff. A month ago my mother in law was admitted to hospital with sepsis, was treated with antibiotics but wasn’t responding to treatment after 5 days so the hospital took the decision with the next of kin to withdraw treatment. Because her home had qualified nurses, she was released to palliative care only, dying three days later.

But....but....the government said I could mix with three households, so we had Christmas dinner with 17 of us, it was brilliant. Unfortunately, gran got covid the week after and died.......[emoji2369][emoji2369]

I equate it to speed limits.

Tell people it’s a 50, they will go 55-60.
Tell people it’s a 40, they will go 45-50.
Tell people it’s a 30, they will go 35-40.
Tell people it’s a 20, they will go 25-30.

And so it with rules.

3 households over 5 days WILL be more like 4 sometime 5 over 10 days for a lot of people. Individual decision or not. Those individual decisions will have ramifications for others too.

How the trends that have been followed throughout are magically going to change.

Every 100 cases leads to 2.5 deaths, so as cases rise........
Cases went down to 15,000 and now they going back up

A friend just advised me they had heard from an impeccable source that hospitals across Brighton and east Sussex are buckling under the pressure of this new strain. Not sure if anyone can validate that

Apparently it was/is up to each GP surgery to volunteer to be involved and the Meads Surgery in Uckfield got in quick.

Young black girl insists her “people” use remedies such as ginger and honey, another said God is protecting her and she will not get anything and finally one chap didn’t want it because of the chip it contains.
