there are many stats, unfortunatly ONS has become over-focused on covid-19, with other dataset difficult to find. suffice to say data shows only 8 people died at home from Covid last week, and similar number previous 3 weeks.

I have looked and I can’t find a breakdown of the excess deaths that are occurring at home, what we can categorically say is they are certainly not people dying of COVID, the point I’m trying to make is I’ve not once heard Bozo and his clowns mention that this many people are currently dying at home, why? Why aren’t they hammering the point home to people.
800-1000 more people a week are dying at home than normal, and that has been consistently the case since April, the number didn’t drop when COVID cases drops which shows it’s not related to COVID cases. It’s appalling.
I heard a senior scientific advisor say 100 people a day could be dying of/with COVID by mid October, yet that many more people are currently dying at home than normal and nobody in the government appears to care?

Why is cancer constantly being used as a barometer for deaths.
As someone living with someone with cancer I know first hand how terrible and indiscriminate a condition it can be... But realise it can't be caught like Covid, or the flu, or mumps, etc.
I have said it before, my wife was quite lucky as she continued with her treatment throughout lockdown, I feel for those that didn't, for whatever clinical reason.

So is the suggestion that all these excess deaths have happened between March and July because appointments for treatments were cancelled? That's a lot of very quick deaths.
I really wish I could get an understanding of these figures, so I could have a more informed view on what is really going on, rather than just keep looking at random graphs, which don't really prove anything concrete.

How would that graph have looked in April? As someone else has said, maybe the current low figures are because of the measures put in place, not despite them!
And also: "The government announced 71 new deaths on Tuesday - the highest total since 26 June."
My optimism about the mutation to a less lethal variant isn't quite what it had been. Let's see what the next few days bring us.

Don't post on this sub forum too often but here's my two pennyworth.
71 more deaths of people that have died within 28 days of a positive test. Massive jump and that's on a Monday when there normally seems to be a lag of reporting from the weekend!
There is a correlation between the easing of lockdown and the so called second wave. Positive tests on the rise which mean there is likely to be higher deaths in a couple of weeks.
It's all well and good banging on about the excess deaths at home but if you look at the chart, it was double in April which is almost certainly due to Covid deaths at home.
It's not a case of the alternatives being either hiding behind the sofa or everyone doing what they please. There is a middle ground but it seems some don't want to consider this. Wearing masks, washing hands etc social distancing. Unfortunately, in this country, there seems little enforcement of the rules by the Police so those that can get away with things do. That seems to be coming home to roost with the universities?
Finally, getting fed up with the those that are against lockdown banging on about Sweden! Stop comparing us to them. Instead, compare them to their near neighbours, Finland, Norway and Denmark. Each of those had lockdown measures and each had less than 700 deaths.
Edit. Also getting fed up with reference to flu deaths which can vary massively each year. 2018/19 there was only 1,692! The five yearly average is 15k, considerably less than the 40k plus we've had so far from Covid!
