Oxford vaccine trial paused due to 'adverse reaction' in one of the participants

https://twitter.com/SamCoatesSky/status/1303450343452422151?s=20

very important to stress that they're unsure if this is related to the vaccine or just a coincidence/separate illness. Still though, not good news either way given this was THE one people were pinning hopes on, even if there's nothing amiss it could surely result in a possible delay in the rollout and will definitely send the anti-vaxxer crowd into overdrive

there's a couple of other irons in the fire, and its too early to write this off.

I simply don’t understand. So, from Monday, there’s a ban on social gatherings of more than 6 persons. Except:
If you’re in Wales, Scot or NI.
At a school or workplace
In the same BBC report, it says ‘large support bubbles or households of six Or more persons remain unaffected’

Hope this virus understands these rules and respects them, because I sure as hell don’t. Drive a bus through all those contradictions and gaps in the arguments. It makes no sense, what are these lunatics playing at? Oh, and that’s before it all changes 24hrs later no doubt.

they are playing at managing their own fear, they are scared shtless of the fallout if there is a repeat of images from March of hospital wards filling with coughing, dieing people. on the other hand they fear the fallout of economic melt down of another fall lockdown. so they walk this tightrope because no one know really what will happen this autumn and winter.

meanwhile Scotland, Wales, NI do things differently simply because they can. no solid reasoning or evidence, just different opinions on a theme. you'll note everyone (aside some outliers, Sweden, Brazil, US) is following the general pattern, only fine details are different between countries.

Boris and at the very minimum Hancock has to go and really needs to be prosecuted for criminal negligence. He awarded the track and trace to his trusted buddy Dido. The one thing they needed to get right, they have completed ballsed up.
We've run out of testing capacity at the labs, HOW? When we've had MONTHS to prepare them?

We're sending people hundreds of miles away to get a test, WHY?

Why lie to us, when back when you announced how many tests were being carried out in a day, you included nose and throat swaps as two different tests? And were overstating how many people were being tested!

Where is our track and trace app? You said schools wouldn't be going back until we had a functioning track and trace app.

All of this is their fault, and I hope to god its not going to be as bad as April-May, but if it is then these are the only two we can blame.

One of the reason I sided on being against the lockdown as we had it was due to it being nearly impossible to come out of it.

This is a complete mess - go back to work, eating out etc - but can’t meet up with more than 6.

We’ve based this on positive tests that are showing flawed results now.

Johnson won’t be around much longer.

The " World Beating" system of testing and track and trace never made it to the global quarter finals. My daughter was advised to take a Covid test on Monday and had to go from her house in Rustington to Croydon to get one!... This has been with us for six months now!

Ps, Covid test came back negative.

the world beating system never happened, didnt get to qualifying. they werent able to do it. problem here is they over promised, made it a big deal, then didnt have the balls to follow through.

for tests we are apparently supposed to get home ones now, so test centres arent considered necessary. for reasons unknown this isnt communicated through the system, people are being told to go to test centres, then they find they are shut or have no appointments.

Does anyone actually believe a word this government say anymore?

They claim the track and trace info shows that infections within the home, then visitors to the home are the major reasons for the upsurge in the virus, ahead of leisure facilities and work.

Clearly for the purposes of track and trace you know who you have had into your home, so an easy check, but you don’t know who you have come into contact with when you go to the pub, or even in many jobs, like shop work.

Stopping people meeting at home isn’t really the answer to the problem, but basic economics dictate it is the only blunt tool the government have at their disposal.

It looks like the public aren’t staying alert!

So, the moment we have an increase in cases, it coincides with Track and trace having problems and testing capacity having problems. Such a shame when we had all that capacity when the cases were very low.

What a weird co-incidence ???

Its not a very well kept secret that the only reason they dont want to test at airports is because they have run out

Hancock blaming the public after the gov spent 4 months telling us everyone is going to die.

The Government: "Alright, fun's over people. Get back to your schools and offices. Right. Now."

Also the Government: "Hmm, why is this spike going up?"

too early for schools to be cause. also, higher rates are very regional, North West, cluster in Birmingham, south Wales.
