Wouldn't happen in England

Talk about a non-story. Two people visited his wife on her 40th birthday whilst he was away working!

I didn’t realise my MP has “come out” but the article doesn’t specify as what. We can presumably rule out lesbian.

“Mr Roberts, who recently came out as LGBT”

The witch hunt going on for anyone ‘breaking the rules’ at the moment is nothing short of disgraceful, this country has turned into a bunch of snivelling snitches and do gooders, this is even aside from politics, every day I seem to see people on my social media secretly taking pictures of the seafront or groups in parks, the social justice warriors are driving me up the wall now.

Karen on Facebook: OMG the beach is packed, bunch of idiots... second wave incoming!! My kids are not going back!!

Also Karen: At the beach taking pictures with her kids.

You hear stories of town halls in France during the occupation being snowed under with letters grassing on neighbours for listening to the BBC orbiting out after curfew. I've often wondered if we'd have been a nation of petty snitches sucking up to daddy state had we been them.

I wonder no longer.

Only happens in England...oh hang on

Officials in Strasbourg have appealed for hundreds of spectators who attended an illegal football match at the weekend to be tested for Covid-19, writes Kim Willsher. An estimated 400 people played in or watched the game and the authorities, who fear a second wave of the pandemic, have called on them to attend a testing centre for anonymous screening.

The match was played on Sunday between teams from two of the city’s districts – Neuhof and Hautepierre – in a local stadium in defiance of rules that limit public gatherings to a maximum of 10 people.

“We must absolutely avoid another virus cluster in Strasbourg and protect those who took part as well as their families,” local prefect Josiane Chevalier said.

She described the event as “incomprehensible, irresponsible and very serious”, but said the aim of the massive testing operation was not punishment. “This isn’t a trap. Our number one priority is health,” Chevalier added.

A tad worrying

South Korea may need to reimpose social distancing measures eased in April, its top infectious diseases expert said on Wednesday, as coronavirus transmissions creeping up in the Seoul metropolitan area.

Jeong Eun-kyeong, director of South Korea’s centres for disease control and prevention, said it was becoming increasingly difficult for health workers to track the spread of the coronavirus, the Associated Press reports.

South Korea reported 40 new cases on Wednesday, its biggest daily jump in nearly 50 days, as officials scrambled to trace hundreds of infections linked to nightspots, restaurants and a massive e-commerce warehouse near Seoul. Jeong said:

This is the country where the government have the right to check the credit card transactions in a bar/shop to check who was there and trace them. Cummings wouldn't have been given the opportunity to create his own interpretation of the law, he would be looking at 6 months. I would be very worried, if I didn't believe they never implemented lock down and social distancing, is somewhat less of an imposition.

40 new cases in 40 million odd.

Put it in context, whilst its not good news its not really worrying at the moment.

Track and trace is good news

But a couple of points

1. There is no need for the 14 day isolation at airports now

2. It’s delayed so much to the point people are going back to work, who will cover wages of those needing to isolation

Hancock was his usual heavy handed self today. The trace and track is optional but if necessary we will force everyone to do it. If you get a call you must self isolate for 2 weeks, even though you have for 10 weeks already. It is your civil duty to comply and stay at home ( unless you are an advisor and enforcer of the rules like Ferguson and Cummings, they are obviously exempt from these rules ) They are very clever with the wording making it your duty and if not letting down the population and the nhs

Ok so with this track and trace if I was to get symptoms say, next week for example I apply for a test and, if it comes back positive they want me to tell them who I've been in contact with for the previous 7 days. Obviously my other half plus landlady and her companion but also literally anyone in a shop local supermarket? How the hell do u know who u could of been in contact with people in supermarket?

Obviously I social distance in queue like most others but many don't and just brush past you/reach over you.

Tiny risk of transmission in such cases. This is more about people you’ve spent time with (at work or family gatherings for example) and a prerequisite to further relaxation of lockdown (ie you’ll be able to meet more people in more situations, because if any of you test positive they can be quickly contacted and told to isolate). The T&T system needs to be in place and shown to be functioning before the next stages of lockdown easing can be implemented. It’s not about taking the name of everyone you walk past when out for a stroll or in the supermarket/garden centre etc.

Right, got you that's all good then. Possibly the phone app with everyone having B T on would solve transmission in public places like supermarkets.
